First time going here.(Friday around 1pm)

Staff were friendly and quick, even with only one server! They had a few tables already seated, but we didn't have to wait long.

Food came out relatively quickly and was a pleasant surprise.

Miso soup was just ok. Nothing too special.

The Tempura had the hard tails removed from the shrimp. I always find that places that do this are more attentive to quality control.

Takoyaki was smooth and not rubbery. The usual Takoyaki around Edmonton area I find are usually too rubbery. However definately not as full. The sauce was also not as sweet as some other places I've tried. Which is both good and bad depending on the person.

We also ordered oysters. They were very small, but tasted of a nice solid sea flavour. They were 3.25 a piece.

We also ordered a special plate with chef's choice. These were very nice overall. They had a really nice texture and bounce. Meat on the squid and salmon were smooth and soft. The Mackrel had a nice sweetness too it. Surf clam sushi had a nice bite back. Octopus was not rubbery. Shrimp felt fresher then most places I've eaten at.

The sushi rice was very neatly formed and had great shape. However, it felt under seasoned.

Washrooms were ok as well. Just...

Save your money, you are better off buying grocery store sushi (seriously!)

Food has gone downhill massively since I first started coming here, today was the last straw. We ordered vegetable tempura, dragon eye rolls, and tuna maki.

The tempura was inconsistent, a few pieces were good but the majority of the veggies were under cooked and lacked freshness.

The dragon eye rolls tasted like frozen fish and generally lacked flavour. Highly disappointing.

And the tuna maki was off in texture and just generally not enjoyable. I also suspect they were the cause of my sudden stomach ache within the hour of leaving the restaurant.

I am not normally someone who would complain before paying the bill. However , our server asked if we enjoyed our meal so I gently explained my concerns and disappointment with the declining quality. The response I received was her gaslighting us, saying our taste buds are bad, blaming me for drinking iced tea for some reason, and just general defensiveness. No apologies, no break on the check, nothing. She grabbed our unfinished meal, brought the check without us asking for it, and continued to gaslight us. I absolutely will...

My go to hidden sushi spot! Very friendly staff, they even know my name when I call in for takeout! Would recommend for any sushi lovers in the Sherwood Park area.

UPDATE: I am entirely sad to write this review but my previous review is no longer the case. I have been going to this restaurant for years and the service was great at the time. When I called to place an order they knew who I was and how I like my sushi. The past 5-6 times I have placed an order something has always been wrong with the order. I have ordered Sashimi/nigiri that arrives frozen, I've been sent the wrong order, and this past weekend I spent over $130.00 worth of sushi that arrived smelling very fishy and tasted bad. Unfortunately we didn't get to finish our meal I was so excited for. I'm all about supporting local business, and I was very hesitant to write this review, however this no longer seems to be a small mishap rather than a trend. I'm not sure if there are new owners or a new chef but I will no longer be recommending this place.

If you are reading this review in search of good local Sushi, I am now using Sushi 11 in...

The sushi here is amazing !! But most importantly, the people who work here have a heart of gold and truly care about your experience with them. They will go above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied. Last night I ordered the large salmon and tuna sashimi and when I picked it up and got home I noticed some parts were frozen. I immediately called them to complain but I didn’t understand that they were explaining to me that their take out orders are like that. They wanted it to be fresh/cold by the time I got home so it came that way. I only had to wait 10 minutes for it to thaw more. They wanted to make it right so they actually had someone come to my house and bring me a new one! I called before she arrived to say that it was good to eat and it was great. I apologized (I was hangry) but before they could cancel, the lady was just about here. I told her it was ok and I didn’t need the new one. I honestly feel terrible and I wanted to apologize! You guys are amazing and thank you so much for going that extra mile.

We came here with high expectations due to the Google ratings and reviews we saw here but we left extremely disappointed. First of all, the server was audibly arguing with the cook and another worker was on her break eating and watching a loud video on her phone beside our table. It kinda ruined the atmosphere right away. Then we waited sooooo long to get our food despite the fact that there was only 1 other small group in the restaurant. Alsi, the price was slightly steeper in comparison to other Japanese restaurants while the quality of food was just ok. My parents and I got a Bento and boyfriend got the ramen. The ramen didn't taste anything special and it was served in a smaller bowl than we're used to seeing. It also cost extra if you want spicy... The Bentos were satisfactory but maybe we were already turned off by our wait time that we didn't really enjoy it and we couldn't wait to leave. Maybe we just we just came in on a bad time/ day but we are not planning to come back anytime soon.
