I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Smilie's Sherwood Park, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, they truly went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was both safe and delicious.
To begin with, I placed my order online, and the process was incredibly convenient. The menu options were extensive, and I appreciated the ease of customizing our dishes to our liking. What sets Smilie's apart, however, is their commitment to customer safety, as I found out firsthand.
My wife has a newly discovered mushroom allergy, and I had mentioned this in the order notes. When I arrived to pick up our order, I was pleasantly surprised when the head chef/owner himself came out to speak with me. He informed me that the soya sauce originally used in the dishes we ordered contained mushrooms, but they had taken it upon themselves to make alterations to ensure our meal was completely safe for my wife.
Not only did they switch to a mushroom-free soya sauce, but they also took extra precautions to prevent any cross-contamination. The chef's dedication to our safety was truly impressive, and he even took the time to explain that the appearance of our dishes might be different due to the change in soya sauce. We were instantly put at ease knowing that they were taking our allergy seriously.
When we got home and opened our meal, we did indeed notice a difference in the appearance of the dishes, as the chef had mentioned. However, what truly mattered was the taste, and I can confidently say that there was absolutely no compromise in flavor. Everything turned out incredibly delicious!
Smilie's Sherwood Park, thank you for going the extra mile to ensure we had a safe and scrumptious meal. Your attention to detail, dedication to customer satisfaction, and commitment to accommodating dietary restrictions are truly commendable. We look forward to ordering from you again and experiencing more of your fantastic cuisine. Keep up the...
Read moreI can’t even give this place a “1 star” it was so disgusting but I have to give it something or it won’t let me post the review. This is now the 3rd time I ordered “ take out” at this restaurant and each time it was noticeably worse but last night was unbelievable and they should be ashamed of themselves selling people such TERRIBLE FOOD. I have chosen this restaurant for many years and will never go back. Very disappointing for sure as I like to support Sherwood Park establishments, but certainly not this one. I can say that this is the first time I have had chicken that was harder and crunchier than the wontons we ordered and it wasn’t crispy ginger, it was just cooked to death …like eating wood to be exact. The ginger beef was hard as a rock (a rock would have been more enjoyable to be honest ) the vietnamese spring rolls were soggy and I still haven’t figured out what exactly they gave me that were supposed to be onion cakes. The first two times it was bad I tried to excuse it for the cost of food these days (to be nice) but this time was shameful. However, the service I received was as always polite and courteous and the food was ready on time when I arrived to pick...
Read moreSorry for the bad review... The food wasn't the best. It was an all you can eat buffet. 65-70% of the food looked like it was just sitting there for hours. We got there at 6pm on a Saturday night and there were barely any people in there. I saw maybe 9-12 people there altogether. I do feel sorry for this restaurant, maybe it was just a slow night.
The waitress wasn't the friendliest and made us feel like they were kicking us out. She didn't acknowledge one of the people who were with us, she just completely ignored her. However she did take a picture when we asked her to.
Google says they close at 9 but the staff that works there said they close at 8 and haven't closed at 9 for three years. Well then change your hours on Google!!! Kinda misleading. We had people from out of town we haven't seen in years and had to cut it short.
I wouldn't recommend this place...
