Purple Perogy — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

As an ex Edmonton Ukrainian I would highly recommend this family owned and operated business. Great food, great service and value. Now that my Baba's have left us, this place brings back those years and years of Ukrainian Weddings, family gatherings and homemade food around Vegreville, Hairy Hill, Two Hills, Mundare. We just ordered for the second time in two weeks food for a family dinner with my 90 year old mom, who was so happy, almost in tears, for the Ukrainian food.

As a Ukrainian-Canadian, it astounds me to read other reviews from Ukrainians that are not supporting this family owned business which promotes our culture. Critizing the food because it is not like your babas. Wow. (Go eat with your baba or learn to cook). Upset about Russian dolls that are displayed as decorations, shame on you. The issue is Putin and not all russians. We share history and culture with more than one slavic country. If there was a time for all Ukrainians to come together and support each other it is now. And for those of you who have nothing better to do than tear down another Ukrainian. Shame on...

Food was pretty good, but the service from the gentleman at the front was sub par at best. He wasn’t wearing a mask or anything to begin with. I ordered two plates of the Buffalo chicken perogies 13.99 each plus tax and somehow I was charged over $31 for the total when it should of been $28 or something. Last time I was ordered from here there was a Middle Aged lady and she was wonderful and the food was delicious. Update: Reduced to 2 stars from 5. The fellow that served us today May 17th, 2022), sat right behind us and was clipping his fingernails. I was alarmed and looked behind to see a bunch of nail clippings and a nail file on a table where customers eat. What was next? Was he going to start clipping his toe nails and filing his feet? Discusting and you lost us as a customer!

I had the lunch special and my wife ordered a few differrent items. It was excellent and as good as it gets IMO. Well worth the price. Frendly too. We will be regulars...
