BRIXX Brewhouse — Restaurant in Smithers

Restaurant wasn't full 6 tables service really slow after I placed my order and waited 30 mins the waitress came over and advised that the kitchen was backed up. Would have been better to say that from the beginning hate to think how service is when the brewhouse is full and the adjoining restaurant I looked in the other and there were even less tables. The red wine I ordered red rooster pinot noir was very smooth I had with that a smashed chicken burger with fries oh what a mistake the chicken burger is covered in bread crumbs that makes it even more dry I found the burger way to big to even try and eat so I opened it up had to remove the bread crumbs was a bit messy but was better afterwards was like biting through cupboard I get it's for a crunchy effect but very dry and bland didn't taste any garlic aioli. The fries were ok I do find it funny that restaurants always awesome that everyone wants ketchup. For me it's by far the worst product around. Waitress offered to make a fresh burger I declined as it had taken so long for this I wasn't interested in waiting any longer. They offered a discount for the food which I excepted to resolve the issue with I found very professional. On the menu it was described as aioli on which would give it moisture there was none I had 1 side dry the other had tomato coleslaw and a pickle. Well this used to be a descent place when it was called Don Cherry a couple of years ago but the owners left as they own 10 or so restaurants and are probable never there. I went there with my wife and friend and there where 2 other tables with 2 people each sitting at each table. First there menu sucks. Explain to us what a A MASH burger is. I had the Ban Mi chicken burger. Well i am not saying it was awful, but not good I know what Bahn Mi is, but it was nothing close to it. And it did not taste like chicken. I thought i was getting a piece of chicken on my burger, but it is apparently chicken grinded with fillers. I can definitely say it is not home made as Sisco truck was there when we left. Next the service is really bad. As i mentioned that there where 4 other people in the pub and it took us over an hour to get our food. My friend was ok with all of this as he talked to the waitress afterward, But having one waitress and one cook is not acceptable. I know getting someone to work at these times is hard, but maybe they could of told us that IT MIGHT take a bit to get our food... Definitely will not go there back for food or drinks. And the same owner own Alpenhorn Pub in Smithers and out of 567 reviews, NOT A...

Brixx is not my go-to place, and tonight reminded me why.

First off, I want to say that our server was excellent. I honestly feel bad that he has to deal with such unreasonable kitchen staff.

I ordered the Bahn Mi Smash and politely asked for no onion or jalapeño. Our server came back and explained that the kitchen refused to allow any modifications. Fine—I accepted that I’d be stuck with food I didn’t want.

But when my meal arrived, I realized partway through that it didn’t even include the main toppings. There was no cucumber, no cilantro—not even onion or jalapeño. Just pickled carrot. I asked if I could at least get cucumber and cilantro, since the dish was bland with only carrot. He returned just as confused as I was, holding a small bowl of… more pickled carrot.

Overall, not impressed and definitely would not recommend. I’ll stick to Foodie Heaven...
