Well I went to visit a friend this past weekend and she raved about a new place she ate at and suggested we go so I could check it out. I have managed bars and restaurants for over 30yrs, Owned my own restaurant and I enjoy checking out new places. Wiarton Roadhouse you did not disappoint. We were only going out for dinner and ended up staying for 3hrs. It was Saturday night that we went it was open mic with Chris who was not just an entertainer but our waiter aswell. Come to find out He manages the place, apparently a jack of all trades in the little place. He was amazing a couple of hiccups but he flew by them with no problems at all and kept on going with ease and a huge smile on his face. Our food was out before we knew it hot and oh my goodness it tasted wonderful. We got to meet the chef who was super friendly aswell. He and Chris made a great team. Thank you both so much for the great service entertainment and food it made my weekend. I will DEFINITELY be back. Keep doing what you are doing and I am sure things will continue to do well. My only advise to you is as much as your focus will be on making all your customers happy Know that there will be times you just can not, learn from the errors and keep positive. It's a stressful business but an enjoyable one. Just know Chris if I had of met you 8 yrs ago I would have convinced you and your family to move for you to come manage my place. Thank you again for the wonderful evening. Best of luck and I will see yous again...
Read moreAll these reviews are VERY misleading. The service was so bloody slow. Took the guy way too long to take our order, and then didn't bring our drinks until after we got our food, which we waited a ridiculous amount of time for that as well. My daughter and I ordered Chicken Alfredo which cost $16/plate, and our food came to us cold, and the portions were very uneven. My bowl was literally, and I'm not even exaggerating half of what my daughters bowl was. It looked like they just dumped it out of a container from the fridge and then put it in the microwave. But it was still cold and I mean VERY dry. My boyfriends food as well and his drink didn't come to him until my daughter and I were already done eating our food and all he got was a burger and fries. We ordered the Garlic Cheesy Strips as a "starter" and we didn't get that until all our food was done and we were ready to leave. And then they offered us a free dessert to make up for our wait. Which I thought was decent, until he brought out ONE small dessert and 3 spoons for us all to eat it. I was pissed. All these good reviews are VERY misleading. We visited the place literally just based on the reviews. I will say that the guy was very polite, but he moved slower than molasses...
Read moreWe were searching for a place for dinner after a busy day playing tourist in Wiarton. Unfamiliar with this town, we didn't find many places open at 8:30pm. We found the Five In Eatery open but closing at 9pm, so we asked if the kitchen was still open and the staff said yes for a few more mins.
We ordered fish & chips and nachos. Fish & chips were brought out fast, while the nachos took about 10 more minutes to come out, which made for different eating times between 2 people who were dining together.
The tartar sauce and coleslaw accompanying the fish and chips were very good, I snuck a little taste while waiting for my nachos.
I appreciated the meal knowing they were closing so thank you.
Place seems a little confused about what it is, has sports on some tv's, music on another TV, odd decor and what I consider to be an odd menu of somewhat disconnected types of foods. We were encouraged to come back and...
