St. Thomas has at least 5 or 6 good breakfast restaurants and now it has a GREAT one. The new Stacked Pancake and Breakfast House has only been open since the fall of 2023. I visited for my first time on a Thursday around 1 p.m., thinking it might be easier to get a seat. I had a modest wait in line at the door but was seated about 10 minutes after arriving. The place is clean, fresh and bright. Staff are great... helpful, cheery and engaged. The menu is a big WOW. Lots of choices and all of the plates I saw served to folks seated nearby looked impressive. Prices are fair, too. Not the cheapest, but the difference shows in quality. And the house-made strawberry jam is an edge above all others. My menu choice for this late lunch/breakfast meal was steak and eggs. Very tasty. Folks seated nearby enjoyed omelettes and mushroom burgers. They, too, seemed happy with the food and friendly service. No question, I'll be back soon for more. UPDATE at Oct 20 - 3 visits completed here and my initial impression is unchanged. Good people. GREAT menu. I tried a burger at lunch today, the Friday special. Excellent and easily in the running for best burger in town. UPDATE at March 12/24. Weekly visits (at minimum) are a must. The food quality and variety and smiling, eager staff make Stacked my #1 morning...
Read moreWe showed up during a Saturday afternoon rush, due to how busy it was I was skeptical about staying. To our surprise we were sat immediately with friendly smiles in a perfect spot. Our server was clearly very busy but that didn't stop her from being polite, friendly, prompt and professional. We ordered our food, blinked and the food was served. Hot, fresh, everything cooked amazingly perfect. The pancakes tasted like home, but a beautiful bed and breakfast out in the countryside kind of home. Sausage and bacon and eggs all cooked to perfection! There was ample staff, I was pleasantly surprised at how many staff they had working - which really helps the facility run faster, smarter, smoother and more enjoyable. The only thing I noticed that was a bit unsettling was the washrooms, the woman's washroom is in serious need of a DEEP clean. I can tell it's kept up but as you look closer you can see that the spots that never get touched are getting filthy. I highly recommend getting someone in to deep clean the washroom.
We will definitely be back and we very much recommend this breakfast place over our (old top favorite) Denny's! This place blew us away with how incredible the whole experience was.
Thank you to all the...

For the price I found the serving a bit lacking. I always get Eggs Benedict, everywhere I go. The sauce lacked the usual flavour (hence the hot sauce sauce), but I didn't hate it. The fruit on the side was unnecessary and wasn't fresh. The pineapples were over ripe and a bit mushy when I tried to pick one up.
It really was just ok. There's nothing glaringly wrong with the food or service. It just didn't wow or impress me. I was surprised at the portion sizes. They were a bit small in comparison to all the reviews I read about 'huge portions'.
It's just a regular breakfast that costs a bit more than I wanted to pay. ($55 including tax and tip)
The restaurant was very busy, it was too loud for me, but that's not their fault. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is why the floor was so slippery. It wasn't...
