Sunset Grill — Restaurant in St. Thomas

My husband and I have been twice for breakfast and enjoyed the food both times. Our first time there, Vic was our server and he was absolutely great! The service was top notch and SO fast. We were in and out in under 20 minutes!

My husband got a breakfast skillet of some sort and I had a breakfast special with pancakes. The pancakes were hands down the best I've ever had. They had a sweet cake-like flavour to them which was so so so good.

The second time we went the service wasn't as great and to be honest, she made us uncomfortable. She was a taller lady with grey hair. I overheard her speaking to another employee and complaining about another staff member being on their phone, which shouldn't be discussed on the floor.

I also ordered blueberry pancakes but buttermilk pancakes came out. I assumed I just ordered buttermilk on error, so I didn't say anything. We got our bill and it said BB pancakes, but I didn't clue in until we left that BB probably meant blueberry and not buttermilk (haha). I am now annoyed that I paid for blueberry pancakes but didn't get them.

My husband also ordered toast with his skillet but it didn't come out with our food. We waited a few minutes until she walked by and asked for his toast, she "snapped" back that the "toast was on its way out!".... Lady, you definitely forgot the toast and it's okay, just admit it. During this time the toast sat under the heater for an additional 3-5 mins (while she was complaining about the employee being on their phone). I also don't think she even checked in on us while we were eating.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and after trying countless breakfast spots, I can confidently say that this one stands above the rest. Unlike other places (Stacked Pancakes, for instance), where you’re served sloppy eggs, bacon that tastes like car tires, and coffee that’s somehow reminiscent of my grandma’s perfume, this restaurant consistently offers fresh, beautifully prepared dishes full of fantastic flavor. The coffee is always freshly brewed, never with a hint of Grandma Dolores.

The staff here are a true delight, and I must single out Madie for her exceptional service. She remembers my usual order without fail, happily refills my coffee 36 times, and never once judges me for the copius amount of Cholula sauce that I dump on my food. Her attentiveness, speed, and eye for detail are unmatched. She effortlessly balances all her tasks and ensures every guest feels cared for. Thank you sir.

Then there’s the cook in the red bandana. I know I’m in for an outstanding meal whenever he’s in the kitchen. I’m not sure what his culinary secrets are, but no one makes bacon and eggs like he does.

The managers, too, are consistently kind and courteous, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes each visit enjoyable. This restaurant has set an exceptional standard for breakfast, and I’m grateful for the quality and consistency they maintain...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a small town breakfast diner and I couldn't have been more impressed with my experience. From the cozy atmosphere to the delicious food, everything was absolutely top-notch. And the icing on the cake was the exceptional service I received from my waitress, Jordan.

From the moment I walked in, Jordan greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel right at home. She was attentive and friendly throughout my entire meal, making sure I had everything I needed and even offering helpful recommendations from the menu.

Speaking of the menu, the food at this diner was simply amazing. I ordered the classic eggs and bacon breakfast, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. And the coffee was some of the best I've had in a long time.

But what really made my experience memorable was Jordan's excellent service. She went above and beyond to make sure I had a great meal and an enjoyable experience overall. I could tell she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her customers.
