Came here for lunch with my husband. I ordered a So-cal eggs bennedict and my husband ordered an omelette. Our waitress was Breahnna. We did not have a great experience. Prior to ordering we asked the waitress if their medium poached eggs are runny and she said they were. She said “the whites are set and the yolk is runny.” I told her that’s great because that’s what I’m used to and prefer. Our orders were brought out soon after. A different waitress (she may have been a cook not sure) brought out the Southwest eggs benedict, which was the wrong order. We had even mentioned to the waitress earlier that we don’t eat meat. She asked if I wanted her to remake it and I said yes as I dont meat meat. There was no apology about bringing me the wrong order. Then I had to wait for them to re-make my meal. Once it was brought out I started eating it and soon realized the yolk was fully cooked through. I stopped eating it at that point. It was a hard poached egg and the yolk wasn’t runny at all. After some time I got the attention of our waitress and showed her the eggs and asked her if she thought it was medium done. She then said medium poached eggs are almost entirely set.. claiming that those eggs were medium done. Even though earlier when I asked how they are supposed to be she said “runny”. I wonder what a hard poached egg is supposed to be then? She asked if I wanted them to remake the entire eggs benedict or just the egg. No apology again or admitting that it was in fact a hard poached egg that was served to me. At this point I was just hungry and annoyed and didnt want them to take the entire meal away and waste food so I just asked them to remake the eggs. The 2 medium poached eggs were brought out a bit later in a bowl and just put on our table in an aggressive manner it felt, without a word being said. She then walked away. I proceeded to try and enjoy what was left of the meal, the rest of it being cold at that point. We asked for the bill once we were done eating and it was brought out. I was shocked to see I was being charged for the full amount of the eggs benedict after all that had happened. I told the waitress it did not feel right paying the full price after what happened. Usually restaurants provide some sort of discount when things like this happen. No apologies were given either. We just felt disrespected. She responded and said she would see what she could do and left for a while. She returned and said they took off that item from the bill. Overall not happy with how we got treated and the customer service we received. I was meeting a friend in Steinbach and we selected Smitty's. While my friend had to leave, I stayed for dinner and had the NY Steak. It was excellent and cooked to my liking - MedWell. I asked if they had substitues for the fries and was told I could have a garden salad at no upcharge. The salad was also very good. The service was excellent.

On receiving the check I noted that they charged me for the salad. I asked about it and the server said it was an error and she would get it fixed. She came back a few minutes later with what she said was a new check but it was not. The charge was still there. I couldn't be bothered asking a second time and neither should I have to ask.

Typically I don't go to Smitty's because it has become so expensive. My dinner would have cost over $30, however, I had a $18.99 "birthday promo credit" that I had not yet used. I receive the promo for having the Smitty's iOS app and being a member of their loyalty program. Members get a credit promo every year during their birthday month plus other promos from time to time. With the credit my total check was just over $7. It could have been less had the server done what she said she would do. Not doing it also cost her a tip and cost the restaurant a lower rating from my review.

Excellent customer service, ordered the NY steak medium raw, the grill taste is excellent in my opinion, it had the smoked flavor of the BBQ and beef was well seared on the outside, however the meat was not evenly burnt on the grill and I know that's a really difficult one lol, I would personally prefer a thicker cut but that's going to raise the price of the meal, so I understand that also. The NY steak is priced at $20ish, no sauces covering the meat, so you get the full flavor from the seasoning and the grill. I am guessing they would have put in hickory smoked chips to get that smoke flavor

I ordered the sweet potato fries as carbo for the steak, I would say the creamy sauce didn't match the fries,I would suggest something else if it's going to be serve with a steak grilled to perfection. And this sauce is the reason why a I have given a slightly lower score but it's nothing major, I could have requested for a different sauce lol

Restaurant is very clean, very welcoming, no waiting time to be served and food arrived very timely, a well managed operation is for sure!
