First timer... Wife and I heading home from a week away we decided to stop for dinner in Stratford on our way back to London from Parry Sound. Typical Tuesday light crowd I suspect as we walk in to a sparsely populated dining room. We are seated and soon greeted with a drink order placed and within minutes were enjoying our first cool drink in hours. Wife orders BP's Chicken and Mushroom Fettuccini ($22.29) "Diced Grilled Chicken Breast, mushrooms, tomatoes and Green Onions with Alfredo Sauce. I ordered "The Big Dipper" ( $20.49) Sliced Steak, braised onions, roasted peppers and onion rings with sweet onion au jus and horseradish mayo . Then we wait...and wait....and wait. Finally the meal arrives...mine stone cold. Before the waitress has a chance to flee I ask if she could take this back and nuke it for 120 seconds as the entree is ice cold .... and she does. Wife looks at her entree and remarks that they aren't kidding when they say "Diced" because it is diced into oblivion! The chicken appears not of the "breast" variety but of the "pressed" variety. Perhaps there is a typo in the menu? If you are unsure of what pressed chicken is I refer you to Fancy Feast, the cat food with real chicken as a guide, because the BP chicken portion is about as generous as the Fancy Feast individually packed portions, and it is diced into pieced half the size of your pinkie finger. The mushroom is diced paper thin and the tomato looks like it was sent thru a 15 second cycle of the blender. Conservative estimates are that they murdered one tomato and one mushroom in the making of this entree. Just sayin... We project there is more pressed chicken in the Fancy Feast serving than in their Fettuccini and with bigger pieces. MY entree was somewhat better, but the "steak" looked like the Costco Roast Beef Luncheon Meat I eat several times a per week in my work lunch., but they are clever in their presentation and it is folded into a "thicker" arrangement.. I also noticed no onion rings present, but that doesn't mean they didn't because they were diced. In the end we left quite...
Read moreOriginally this review was 2 starts due to the story you can see below and after my experience today at lunch I took it down to 1 start .. if I could give zero I would. I took my dad out to lunch today and I ordered a spinach dip for myself and asked that I have the chips replaced with veggies .. the same veggies they already have cut up and ready to serve on the side of their wings; carrots and celery. The waitress made a funny face at me and said she'd have to ask the kitchen. Later she came out and told me (in a lovely tone) that the kitchen wasn't happy about it but would do it this ONE time and to not expect that they do this request for me again ... I couldn't believe how I was talked. I studied hospitality management and have managed some of the biggest restaurants in Canada .. for her to talk to me like that really speaks volumes to how they are training their staff. I am not happy with their service. I will not recommend this boston pizza to anyone.
The chicken bites are delicious. However the staff I've dealt with twice now for delivery errors are rude. Tonight they forgot my beverage and I called to have it delivered and the girl was instantly rude to me and told me three different stories in the span of a minute as to why my beverage didn't come with my order. The first one was that they saw the item on the receipt but had no idea what it was, the second one was that they didn't have the item I ordered in stock and the third was that I didn't order a drink. When I tried to say anything she cut me off rudely and asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. She then was talking to a coworker while on the phone with me regarding their mistake. Finally they send one out, takes thirty minutes to get to me and it's warm. No sorry, no we made a mistake. I'm much more forgiving when people own up to their errors rather than lie and try to make up stories. So far I am not impressed with...
Read moreI know chain restaurants aren't typically the best but Boston Pizza has to be near the bottom of the list in my opinion. We visited this location yesterday with some friends and the food was dreadful.
The "cactus fries" are just under cooked potato chips served with a spicy ranch dressing.
We ordered the Spicy Pierogi nachos and these were terrible, just a flat pile of undercooked potato chips with hardly any toppings, I would be ashamed to serve someone something that looked like this.
We ordered the spicy sausage flat bread and it was equally bad, toppings were sparse, hardly any cheese, only flavor it had was hot.
We ordered a couple pizzas for the table and for a place that makes pizza their claim to fame you'd they they would at least make a good pie. Their pizza's are grossly over priced ($17 for a small!) and are about as good as frozen pizzas. You can get a far better pizza at literally any pizza joint for a fraction of the price.
Frankly we left feeling ripped off, the only reason this didnt get a 1 star is because the service was good. Our waitress was very friendly, quck to get us -refills and was the only reason this wasn't a completely...
