Mei Shanghai — Restaurant in Stratford

oh my Atlanta, after an entire weekend @ Metallica, partying too much, with the best of friends. Got this on my way home, @ 4 drove more, went mudding into the morning, NEVER opened it, got home alas. Felt like I went to Canada's Wonderland for the entire day for 4 days straight when I was little, barely ate all day. opened it up from my thermal edible time capsule container @ 1am. Still a bit warm to touch through the container like a little baby in incubator. After all the emotions of the elapsing time before one of the most precious things in front of you Isn't still inside your belly/home. I had to tell and show everyone like a new parent showing you baby pictures when your buzzed @ a work function & don't care, BUT now your looking cause you wanna know if it's good, and I assure you...

I was satisfied. Menu offers predominantly Chinese-Canadian fare. As everything is MSG-free, food is prepared simply and not overly greasy or seasoned. The taste can seem lacking and bland to some, while others might find it clean and pleasing. (I will say the chicken balls could've been tenderized more or battered better.) I personally appreciated not having to drink gallons of water as often is the case post-takeout meals. The portions are good and the pricing is fair. The staff is courteous and they do a really solid job of packing your order well to make sure there is no leak or spillage. The restaurant is located in a strip mall a few kilometres off the heart of downtown Stratford. There are a few tables & chairs to sit & eat on site, but it is first and foremost a takeaway business. Moved to Stratford a little over a year or so ago and didn't know any good Chinese food places. My wife had gone here for lunch with one of her friends... I was graced with a rather HEALTHY amount of food. Omg. THIS.... for a small seemingly out of the "main view" of people is a "hidden gem". I'm picky where I eat. I tasted the food, still hot, no gristle in the chicken (common in lesser quality restaurants) rice etc.... freaking PERFECT! This place is worth visiting if not making it THE go to for Chinese. OUTSTANDING. This place DESERVES MORE ATTENTION. Small business, big taste and VALUE. My wife and I WILL be frequenting this amazing little touch...
