Jolly Rogers Grill — Restaurant in Summerside

Such a great restaurant! The menu has lots of different items to choose from. We started dinner with the bacon crostini’s they were delicious but I will say we only got 4 slices (they don’t say this on the menu). Even though we were shocked by the serving it was made up for in taste…..they were absolutely mouth watering.

For my meal I got the sweet chili rice bowl. It was delicious! The chicken comes out on a skewer but I highly recommend mixing it into the rice bowl. Another person at my table got the fish tacos and 3 days later he’s still taking about them!

I will say if the weather is cold be very mindful of where you choose to sit. I froze the whole time that I was there and the minute someone entered or exited the restaurant you could feel the cold within a matter of seconds. I also feel like they could do more with the style of the restaurant, good that tastes that good deserves a place that looks that good! (But let’s be real…. That doesn’t affect the taste)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jolly Rogers, and I can't recommend it enough! The food quality was outstanding; every dish was fresh and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed their steak and chicken, which were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. They do have an incredible seafood menu as well.

The inside decor of the restaurant is very unique and inviting, with a nautical theme that adds a great touch to the dining experience. The ambiance is cozy, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions.

What truly stood out for me was the customer service. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. A few years ago, we had dinner at a higher-end Boston seafood place and we were reminded how easy it is to ruin scallops. Those folks ruined them well. The good folks at Jolly Rogers don't commit such sins. Served up with a tasty bacon jam, ours were a perfectly cooked delight. So why only four stars? Our second was the shared seafood platter. Everything was, again, perfectly cooked, but we were disappointed that it was all battered and fried. It was a lovely light batter, and the cooking was still perfect, but a large plate of battered/fried fish is just too much. Mixing that up with some pan-fried would certainly have been less weighing.
