I came across an ad for Kerala Delights on Facebook and decided to give it a try, and Iâm so glad I did! The food was absolutely authentic and the flavors immediately brought back memories of my hometown in Kerala. Itâs rare to find authentic Kerala-style food in Vancouver, but Kerala Delights delivers exactly that.
The South Kerala-style biryani was a standout. The subtle hint of pineapple brought back memories of the biryanis we used to have at weddings in my hometown.Itâs such a unique flavor that you donât often find elsewhere, and it was prepared perfectly. What made it even more special was that they added eggs with the chicken biryani, which is a Kerala tradition! đđThere was a generous amount of chicken pieces as well!!
I also ordered paneer biryani, which isnât on their regular menu, but they made it as a special request. ( Special thanks for this) It was my first time trying South Kerala-style paneer biryani, as this isnât a common dish from my hometown. The paneer was perfectly fried, absorbing all the flavors, and the quantity was just as generous as the chicken biryani.
The next dish we ordered was chicken 65, it was a huge hit with everyone at home. Another standout for me was the bakery-style chicken rolls. Authentic Kerala bakery snacks are not easy to come by in this region, but Kerala Delights has managed to recreate them beautifully. Itâs such a nostalgic experience to have these flavors after so long.
Next up is the parippuvadaâhonestly, it's deserving of another 5/5 stars!
The portion sizes were generous, and the food was flavorful from start to finish. This is a takeout-only place thatâs open Friday through Sunday (to the best of my knowledge), and if youâre craving authentic Kerala food, Kerala Delights is the place to try. Highly...
Read moreI recently ordered from Kerala Delights and was truly impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food. As someone who appreciates Kerala cuisine, this spot exceeded my expectations.
I tried the meat roll, which was crispy on the outside with a flavorful and perfectly spiced filling. The banana fry (pazham pori) was sweet, soft, and goldenâjust the way it should be. The beef roast was the standout for meâtender chunks of beef cooked in a rich, spicy gravy that paired beautifully with the soft, freshly made chapati. I also had the puffs, which were flaky and buttery with a savory filling that hit all the right notes. The biryani was another highlightâfragrant, well-balanced, and generously portioned, with layers of flavorful rice and tender meat that made it deeply satisfying.
Even as takeout, the food traveled well and was packed thoughtfully. The flavors held up beautifully, and everything tasted fresh. Whether youâre already a fan of Kerala food or trying it for the first time, I highly recommend giving this...
Read moreOrdering takeout from here was like opening a time capsule of flavors. The beef biryani brought back memories of those festive family meals. The portion size was generous, perfect for sharing, and every grain of rice was fragrant and flavorful. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, with the spices blending seamlessly to create that authentic, nostalgic taste we all crave.
The puffs were equally delightfulâflaky, golden, and filled with a deliciously spiced mixture that was perfectly balanced. Each bite was a reminder of the bakery snacks we loved growing up, crafted with care and quality ingredients.
What stood out was the consistency in portion size and the use of premium-quality ingredients, especially the meat. This place truly knows how to deliver old-school flavors that make you want to come back for more. If youâre looking for nostalgia-packed takeout, this...
