TL;DR: little more expensive the T&T, a little better then T&T.
I had been shopping around for a cost effective place to have some take out sushi, mislead by my friend ( he thought this was a 5 star place) I had visit here.
I had no trouble finding parking, they had the take out menu post on the outside wall as well as a "today's special" (Which was spelt wrong.) The decor was quite simple, nothing fancy here.
The owners seemed like they were Chinese(?) they spoke good English and was well mannered mannered.
The menu was .... a mess ... they didn't bother changing the prices properly, instead they opted to use pen to hand scribble the new more expensive price. (Come on at least give me an illusion of a good deal #jokes)
I had order a Party tray C as well as a "today's special" $7.99 for 20 piece of sushi.
They made the sushi on the spot. As I waited I asked for a cup of water which they gave happily.
*The taste result my be skewed by the relatively long transit from white rock to home. *
The ingredients as well OK for the price, it turns out that it wasn't the most economical decision that I had Made. It was a reasonable price...as it's roughly the price for sushi at T&T on discount but a little more expensive. The sushi quality was a little better then T&T but just don't expect your taste buds to be urging you back. By no means is the sushi bad, but it just...
Read moreAs a fellow Ocean Park resident we all love to shop local and support our little community. Hence the reason why we have been excited to try King Sushi when we saw it renovating over the past few months. Well needless to say unfortunately today was my first and last time. We ordered the rolls to go and I made sure to ask the lady on the phone her recommendation. The rolls are TINY and all fall apart when when trying to pick them up. The crazy avocado roll for $6.75 was nothing but a tiny cheap avocado roll deep tried in flour with no sauce or anything to make it "crazy" . The Hot Crack Roll for $9.95 was literally the most disappointing roll I have eaten in years and not even comparable to cheap food court sushi. The spicy sauce they use is plain old siracha and the fish tasted previously frozen. The tables were dirty with used plates and my husband was the only one in the restaurant picking up the food. Very disappointed especially for being new to the neighbourhood. I hate to say this to but but with Sakuya across the street King Sushi will have a hard time...
Read moreI moved all the way to Fleetwood but I still regularly come back to White Rock anytime I crave sushi, they recently just moved to Ocean Park and I have to say it is a beautiful new location and it overall pleases me. I’ve known the owners for a very long time ever since my childhood and they are incredibly and nice and very friendly people. The food looks professionally made and tastes authentically Japanese. I highly...
