We had a great lunch at a la Fontaine. They had a special menu with a choice of soup or salad, and choice of several main dishes. I had a salad, my wife chose the soup. We both had beef bourgonion. Tea or coffee completed the deal. It was a good value,and very tasty. The service was top-notch, and the restaurant itself was charming. I would be interested in learning more about the hotel part of the business. Highly recommended, and we will return. I neglected to mention that as an anglophone from the U.S, the whole experience in Sutton seems a little exotic with everyone speaking French. That being said, our hosts at La Fontaine were quite proficient in, and willing to converse in English. Part of the fun for me is to try speaking French, and they made me feel at ease with my less than fluent French....

Our waiter, whom we found out was the owner/chef's son, was so helpful and made us feel so welcome.. He recommended all our courses and was right on! The food was superb! Appetizers included cheese in a delicious puffed pastry, served warm.... cold cucumber soup, so refreshing and delicious... The main courses, all perfect.... grilled trout, I had, the livers in madeira my husband had... the crusty warm baskets of French bread... and the desert! Fresh blueberry tart in custard and whipped cream... divine! Coffee excellent too.... Prices more than reasonable... Unbelievable quality and perfection at a most...

To make matters worse, at no point did the waitress come over to apologize or explain what the problem was. After well over an hour, we flagged her down and she said the food would be coming soon. Then we didn't see her again for 20 minutes. If there's a problem in the kitchen at least have the decency to come over and explain to your clients that there's going...
