Saffron House Indian & Indo-Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Swift Current

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saffron House and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth and a delightful atmosphere that set the tone for an incredible dining experience.

The menu at the restaurant offers a diverse range of culinary delights, each dish meticulously crafted with a perfect balance of flavors. You know a restaurant is going to be good when the guy waiting for takeout in front of you immediately starts raving at you about the food. It was clear this guy had developed a crippling dependence on the butter chicken poutine: he'd eaten it three times in three days, and was picking up a second helping to go when we met him.

Despite the rave review, we didn't get the butter chicken poutine. We ate in, and had veggie pakoras with mint sauce, followed by lamb rogan josh with butter naan and coconut rice.

The pakoras were perfect - hot, crispy, full of flaky potatoes and subtle herbs. The mint sauce was tangy and so savoury we scraped the bowl clean with a spoon.

We finished the pakoras so quickly I didn't get a picture.

The lamb was tender and flavourful, in a rich gravy whose spice grew on the palate throughout the meal. The coconut rice was chock-full of real coconut, and well seasoned. I would only caution that it was sweeter than I anticipated.

The naan was some of the best I've ever eaten! Fresh, hot, crispy and pillowy and just the right amount of chewy.

All in all, an unexpectedly wonderful meal during our brief stop on our way from AB to MB.

I had an absolutely outstanding dining experience at Saffron House, the Indian & Indo-Chinese restaurant in the heart of downtown. The attentive and extremely pleasant waitstaff made it feel like each table was their top priority, even during the bustling evening rush. Their speed and attention to detail were impeccable.

The high-end atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening, and the special of the night exceeded all expectations. The supper special included an appetizer, a main course, rice, a dessert, and a drink. Every bite was bursting with incredible flavors, leaving me thoroughly impressed.

The Pakora was a work of perfection, crisped just right, and the sauce complemented it exquisitely. The Chicken Masala had just the right amount of spice, making it a delight without overwhelming heat. To top it all off, the dessert was the ideal finish to an incredible culinary journey.
