Food is OK sometimes, depends who makes it. Ordered breakfast through Skip the Dishes delivery. Courier was late. Asked the help desk to credit me back, for the service fee, delivery fee and tip, which they did.
My all Canadian Breakfast, had runny sunny side up eggs. Not happy with that and toast was barely done, with lots of greasy stuf on it. Yuuk!
On top of everything, I was yelled at, by their server and told it is my fault, that the food was ready for a while.
Explained to them, that the courrier wanted to come in 30 minutes, more then the allotted delivery time and switched delivery, to pick up. When asked for her name, she refused to provide it and the other 2 cooks took her side. Nice!😡
This is what's happening, when the supervisor is not in. My food is cooked usually by a man, who knows me, for the last 4 years or so and always!!!! accommodates my food requests.
Totally disappointing experience in the last 24 hours at this location. Management has to hire or train professional people, used to deal with customers.
After this incident, went across the plaza to Subway, ordered breakfast for my family and came home with 2 types of experiences.
Very bad at A&W 👎👎👎👎👎
Very good at Subway 👍👍👍👍👍. Consistent customer service and pleasant experience, cheaper and fresher than A&W that only serve you frozen food, which is either fried or reheated and served to you with pompous prices and inflated ego staff attitudes, that I will not tolerate or stand for it.
Ordered in December 2021 and January 2022, BLT chicken burger combo, which is supposed to come on 7 grains bun. Each time ordered, it arrived on sesame seeds buns, that I have allergy to. Got refunded in both cases.
Last order, the fries tasted funny and were cold. Smh, a disapointing experience, each and every time, ordering through delivery. I was luckier before, with the chicken strips combo from them. Otherwise, limited menu I can order from and bad experiences over all.
To sum it up, go in person and check up your order, before picking it up. Or eat there if you can. Had no issues with this location, eating in. Issues started lately with delivery, on quality of food,...
Read moreI had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life at this A&W last week. I ordered two Chicken Buddy Burgers, and what I witnessed in the kitchen was beyond disgusting and unacceptable in Canada.
The two staff members preparing food had extremely dirty clothes — the man was wearing filthy jeans that looked like they hadn’t been washed in over a year. His body looked unclean, his hair was messy and clumped, and neither of them wore hats, gloves, or followed any basic hygiene standards.
Right in front of me, they prepared my sandwich with their bare hands. • They placed the burger patty directly on the bun. • Then picked up lettuce with their hands and threw it on the burger. • The man grabbed a slice of cheese with his bare fingers and placed it on top, then closed the bun. No gloves. No care. Pure contamination.
It didn’t stop there. At the same time, another customer came in. The same man took the order at the cash register, handled cash with his bare hands, gave change back, and immediately returned to the kitchen to continue making sandwiches — again with no handwashing, no gloves, nothing.
This was absolutely revolting. I was so disgusted that I threw away the sandwiches I had just bought for my children right there in the restaurant’s garbage bin. I could not let my kids eat food prepared in such filthy and unhygienic conditions.
This was not only the dirtiest but also the most unprofessional restaurant experience I’ve ever had in Canada. The level of hygiene was below any acceptable standard. From that day on, I swore never to set foot in this A&W again. I will never trust this location, and honestly, after seeing this, I don’t think I will ever buy burgers from A&W again. At least when I order pizza, I know it goes in the oven and doesn’t get touched by such dirty hands.
Absolutely shameful and disgusting. ⭐️ 0/5 — If I could give negative...
Read moreFirst time here, and came for a late dinner at 8:30pm on a Sunday. When I was about to order, witnessed unfortunate situation of undercooked chicken and an understandably angry customer who returned his food furiously and was shocked to have bitten into his sandwich and then exposed to salmonella.
Unfortunately their manager wasn't there to handle the situation so the three employees did. They asked what they can do and whether he wanted to order something else. They tried their best, but I think they were shocked and untrained.
The customer left and left the chicken patty at the register. When I went to order I noticed they didn't comment to other customers for the incident (it did sour my outing to A&W) and also they mentioned they didn't expect the high volume of customers today. But that doesn't mean they can undercook chicken like that. They left the dirty chicken patty at the register for a good 30 minutes with customers coming up to order at the same register.
I hope the manager can help with training for customer service since it's bad for both employees and customers to experience this. Typically, I believe it would have been helpful if they had apologized immediately and offered an immediate refund, and mention that it wouldn't happen again and demonstrate concern for the customer. It's a huge salmonella risk! This is the first time I've seen this incident at a burger place and it's a genuine health and safety concern.
I talked to the employees afterwards and they seem like humble, good people. Just highly untrained so I hope the situation gets better for everyone. I'd really like to come back to this A&W. Read reviews on this A&W after that and found they may get your order wrong. I ordered the Teen Combo, and thankfully the food was good and perfect.
This A&W is open 24 hours but I only saw two customers...
