I've been here a few times and have been to the location at Ridgeway recently too! This location has recently remodeled to look more like the location in Mississauga - there's more seating and greater ambiance with the vintage and antique decor.
This remodeling comes at a great time considering how busy this location gets - my mom and I come in here every once and a bit for mother-daughter bonding time. She's come here a few times with her friends, and has liked this location, but finds the classic Karak Chai a bit strong for her personal taste.
That being said, we usually come in for the Chawpatty Chaat and share that between the two of us - I like it well enough, the bondi and chaat papdi add a nice crunch and its overall pretty flavourful. I personally find the yogurt a bit too sweet personally, and I would say the same for the Dahi Puri. But both are good to eat as something light.
Wanting to change things up, we tried something new and asked what was popular - which resulted in us trying the Buffalo Tandoori Twist poutine. It was very filling, and we found the fries portion of the poutine with the cheese curds and gravy just a bit better than the chicken (but overall together it was great!) - I would suggest splitting it between two, or saving it for later rather than eating it all at once since it can feel a bit heavy (if that makes sense).
I like how this location serves as a third place for the desi youth in the area - you'll pretty consistently see young people working on their laptops or chatting with friends, which is nice to see. The store is clean, well kept, very visually appealing with the striking wall art (that matches the large table), and has ample seating (much more than before, which is great considering how much foot traffic this place sees). The food is made to order and is fresh, and has been pretty consistent with each visit.
If there are any nit-picky things from my end, it would be that the store could benefit from more frequently cleaning the tables and chairs as there's been crumbs every time I visit. It's a really busy location so it's understandable, and I just wipe it off myself. Another (very very very minor) issue is the garbage bins, it's oddly a bit hard to open them and get the garbage in (during my most recent visit I dropped half my garbage trying to get it in - a bit embarassing all things considered). Maybe it's user error haha.
All that being said, would definitely recommend this location! The service is good, the team is knowledgeable and quick, and it's nice to see it bustling and brimming with energy.

Read moreTerrible customer service. I've visited this restaurant few times now and unfortunately, every visit has had rude staff at the counter. Today, I had Krista taking my order at the counter. As part of my order, I asked for a ChaChi Chai hot drink and asked how many sugar they put in it. She said 2 sugar so I asked if I can have it with 1 sugar instead. With a rude tone, she said she'll give me the drink with no sugar and I can add my own sugar packs by going to the side of the counter and take my own sugar packets. So I politely asked her how come they can't put 1 sugar for me at the time they are making the drink. She said to me, "my boss told me not to do it. If I do it for 1 customer then I'll have to do it for everyone. I'm not gonna argue with him for the sake of a customer". She was also rude to me throughout my order at the counter and she was also very rude to the other customer after me. I pointed to the showcase with the treats and asked her if that's a brownie cheesecake bar and she said to me rudely again, "I don't know which one you're talking about. They are so many items in the showcase". I described it to her and instead of her coming closer to the showcase to see what I'm referring to, she just stood at the cash register and said, "I don't know " Now, when I go in to order, I get anxiety as I don't know how they'll be with me. No more visits to this restaurant. They are not worth my business or time when there are several other amazing restaurants in that same plaza with much better customer service. Their food is also very...
