My wife and I went around 6/6:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 14th, and I was disgusted to find one person working behind the counter and kitchen.
The poor gentleman was handling 3 people’s work by himself and was able to maintain a surprisingly calm demeanour even though you could tell he was stressed. He was prepping on the the veggie station, mixing and marinading chicken and cooking chicken/fries on the deep fryer all by himself.
Considering the store handles Uber/skip/DoorDash orders as well as phone and in person, it is disgusting practice to have one person working. I’m pretty sure this is illegal as there should always be a minimum of 2 people working to ensure safety.
What is the store going to do if the only person working hurts himself? What if there’s an emergency and he needs assistance? Who will be there to help?
I cannot stress how disgusted I am by this practice of the owners exploiting these new comers, paying them minimum wage or below and forcing them to do 3 people’s work. I always see posts by the owners of this specific restaurant on Instagram and I was very much tempted to try the food as the videos are creative, but now I can wholeheartedly say I will never step foot inside and I will deter as many people as I can from going here.
And to touch base on the poor worker; he of course has no fault in this and was doing his absolute best and hardest to take care of so many things at once and greeted my wife and I in the most calm and welcoming way possible. I genuinely felt bad because he exemplified all the qualities of a great employee and an efficient worker. That the owners are exploiting him by forcing him to work so much more than they undoubtedly pay him is an insult to the labour laws and human rights. I hope this place closes down for this...
Read moreI often come here once a week or twice a month when I go to scarbough to see my cousins and the service is really great these guys don’t mind explaining things to you if you don’t understand anything, but the food does take awhile to come out which is understandable when they’re busy for me at least but I get a lot of people don’t have much time so if you’re someone trying to get in and out within 10 minutes I don’t recommend it cause my order is usually 2 chicken spicy sliders with wedges on the side or 3 spicy sliders and it takes up to 20-40 minutes which is quite awhile, I also think the price is okay kinda steep $22-34 for my usual order but the food is really good they did bring the spice level down a lot a few months ago I’m not sure why I guess perhaps because a-lot of customers found it to hot and choked cause even my cousin did twice I really did love the spice but it’s understandable why, but still tasty also the chicken sandwiches even after a day or two still have good taste and beautiful crunch if you warm it up a bit, they also did downsize the chicken a bit on the sliders but that’s alright. Atmosphere is mostly always lovely and they bring you you’re food if you’re dining in,There’s also this lovely lady that works in sometimes and she always gives the best service and smiles asking if everything is ok! so I’d say this place is a great spot to try out once and awhile over all 9/10! This is an old photo year ago what the old size use to look like and old spice ness level just a little...
Read moreDecided to stop by and check this place out with my elderly mother (who is rather quite picky with food.)
Purchased two combos (click yeah and click bone-in) and both deliver d a great taste.
The waffles were a bit fluffy, quite light, and very savoury. Slightly less salty for my mother.
The sides (onion rings and fries) were both very good. The Onion rings, crisp, smooth on the inside without any inconsistencies in the temperature. The fries were quite soft on the inside. The oil was also very fresh.
The chicken both boneless and bone-in were quite tasty. Once more, fried well on the inside without any inconsistencies inside (i.e., burnt outside and cold insides.) The flavour had a great medly for the cluck yeah combo.
The best part of this meal however was the individual there. Albin was quite kind and courteous. At first impression there was definitely a miscommunication regarding the price of our order, but once that was sorted out, Albin really stood out with quality service. From timing the food, to speaking to us, and even serving us personally (rather than shouting at the counter) - he embodied a respectful demeanor.
If you get a chance to - please do go here for the service itself. The food, however, is still...
