Overhyped.. not worth it :(.
We wanted to love it…. we were really looking forward to trying CB after seeing it all over TikTok and reading glowing Google reviews… but unfortunately, it just didn’t live up to the hype. Portions were small, especially for the price. Yes, seafood can be expensive, but we’ve been to other spots in the same price range that offered much larger portions and MUCH better quality. Seafood quality was disappointing. The snow crab legs were watery and tasteless, with something off about the meat. The shrimp (no heads) were overboiled and bland. Overall, nothing stood out.. the sauce needed real chopped garlic/onion bits! Service was hit or miss. It got busier during dinner and it was hard to get a server’s attention. When we did, they forgot essentials like bibs, gloves, napkins, etc.
Food breakdown: Mozzarella Sticks ($11+) – No marinara sauce (they gave us ketchup?), but at least the cheese had a nice pull. Fish & Chips 2pcs ($30+) – Super bland, no flavor or crunch to the batter. Tartar sauce didn’t help. Crawfish Boil ($33+) – The meat in the crawfish was at least better than the shrimp meat. Crab Boil ($56+) – came with shrimp, sausages, corn, rice and potatoes (The sausage and potatoes in the boil were probably the only decent items we had in there). Crab DOSE ($84+) – This was $30 more than the ⬆️crab boil, just to add a lobster tail and some mussels. Same portion size otherwise…not worth it. Cajun Fries ($8.99) – Crispy but barely any Cajun seasoning. Pop x 4: ($12) We spent $300 (with tax and tip) and walked away disappointed. We could tell other diners felt the same… lots of people were just looking around at eachother as if they were wondering, “Is it just us?”
Overall, this just felt like another #TikTokMadeMeTryIt letdown. There are definitely better seafood spots out there in both...
Read moreI had a very frustrating experience at Crab Boil tonight. I was picking up an order that my partner had placed for me through UberEats. A simple 1lb shrimp boil with extra sauce on the side (which they forgot to add in the bag and I only noticed after coming back home) I was notified upon placing the order that it would be completed within the time it took for me to drive to the restaurant. Upon arrival, I stated the name of the order for pickup and was told it was not ready. Cool, no problem, it happens. However, after 20-30 minutes, I am still standing at the checkout area, not being informed or given any updates as to where my order is. Mind you, this order was supposed to be ready for pickup upon entry into the restaurant. I ask again politely, and I am met with a simple ‘’3 mins’’ answer. You guessed it, it wasn’t 3 mins. My order finally arrives, and I show a screenshot of my partner’s name confirming that the order belongs to me, and one of the employee’s questions it, despite the fact that it shows all relevant details which would indicate that this belongs to me. As I stated previously, my partner placed the order, therefore, it shouldn’t matter whether I show a screenshot or not, I confirmed the name multiple times during the 30-40 mins that I was standing at the counter waiting on my order. Needless to say, I left disappointed over the lack of customer service. I understand things can change, but keep your customers in the loop. Poor customer service. Unfortunately, despite the food being delicious, this was enough for me to not return. I will take my...
Read moreTo begin with Queenie who first came to our table was super nice and kind and helped us figure out how to order but this was a blip in the good service as she was done for tbe night.
When we first got there it had the feel of a restaurant that had several previous owners and that for this incarnation they didn’t change much but through up some decorations.
We waited for a while unsure how to order or how things worked before we asked staff behind the counter and that’s when Queenie came over. Again. She was super nice and figured out the best value for us.
Besides when our food came over that was our last interaction with a server. No quality check at any point. No asking if we wanted anything else. We had to ask for the bill.
The food was very good. But it seemed very pricy for what you got and the claim that you got a 1/2 pound of everything Was dubious as we got two small pieces of corn and 1/2 a small potato each and there was no way we got 1/2 pound of items like crawfish and shrimp. But like I said it was good. The broth was excellent. We wish there was more of it.
While we were eating as it was very quiet (went on a Tuesday night ) the staff were at the counter socializing and signing to the music. It got distracting especially as there was no care about us being there. (Although our server did seem to know another table that showed up and sat down with them to talk).
We came because of the social media buzz. I think they need to work on the service aspect and portions as there are now other options to try...
