Had a disturbing experience at Wakame Sushi in Weston which I am sharing so other diners can be on guard and defer to onsite surveillance cameras if necessary. Went on Monday Dec 30th around 7 pm for my Momโs 80th birthday. We ordered 3 Bento boxes and a calamari appetizer. Very straight forward order and hardly anyone in the restaurant โ maybe 3 or 4 other tables who were doing all you can eat. A gentleman who seemed to be supervising the dining floor told us if we placed the electronic order on same bill we would get a specific item for free โ some sort of fried wonton. When it came time to pay and we were packing up our leftovers we realized we never got this item. When we mentioned it to the man, he said we did get it โ even though he wasnโt the one who served us any of our food or drinks. Two other non verbal, no eye contact waitresses brought the food at different times. When we assured him we didnโt receive this item he insisted we did and started speaking to one of the waitresses who had her back to us but was basically shouting like a fishmonger in a Marrakesh market. Again, staff insisted we got the item and we repeated that we did not and there was no logical reason not to believe us. We were a small group and we all had bento boxes โ not all you can eat. We arenโt confused about what arrived on the table when it was a fixed order served in partitioned boxes. I suspect the calamari appetizer arrival was being confused for the wontons while at the same time staff were bringing out individuals plates to different tables doing AYCE. Incredulously, the staff kept insisting they brought the food but no one spoke to the 2nd waitress who served us our salad soup, sushi and the appetizer. He only spoke to the waitress who brought the Bento boxes. At this point I left because I could tell something was very bizarre about this entire situation, but my brother and mother stayed behind. Staff then brought out a plate of the cheese wontons to show what they looked like and continued to insist we received and ate this dish. I know mistakes happen but there needs to be a better system if this type of escalation can happen when the restaurant is not busy and they are serving all you can eat sushi. In hindsight, we should have removed our tip and insisted they call a manager to review the surveillance video plus interview the 2nd waitress to resolve this issue. We were not charged for the item and we donโt care about a free appetizer. We didnโt even finish our Bento boxes so it wasnโt about needing more food. But the dynamic with this particular aggressive waitress and how the staff managed this incident was baffling. Please be mindful when dining here and pay attention to any inconsistencies and rely on the cameras if it comes down to that. We have eaten here several times before but not recently-over a year. I donโt know if there has been a change in management, but it is unfortunate because there are not a lot of restaurants in Weston so it is sad when you have to cross a place off your list. One day this restaurant is going to pull this stunt on the wrong customer โ I would love to be a fly on the wall when that day comes but we will never come back here again no matter how much we are craving Sushi. If anyone else knows of any other good recommendations in the area, I would welcome some leads. There is an amazing Sushi place on Royal York (Lan Sushi run by lovely Japanese couple) but it is...

Iโve been going to this location for about 6 years now, and I can faithfully say it is only because of the convenience of the location. The last 3 times Iโve been have been absolutely awful. The staff does nothing but stand around and talk to one another. The last few times Iโve gone my water was not refilled ONCE without me having to ask. One time the only time they filled it was at the end of my dinner as I ordered my ice cream......not cool. You can also repeatedly say โthank youโ everytime you ask them for anything, and never get a response, not even a smile. This is going for ALL the staff. Itโs the same faces I see everytime I go there (which is about twice a month...). This is the worst part: they have disgusting attitude about tips. BASICALLY, at the end of dinner (after the waitresses donโt fill my water, and give me attitude) they have the NERVE to complain when they donโt receive a tip. I firmly believe in tips being given for good service. I do not receive good service, therefore I wonโt tip. Iโve actually seen a few reviews about this problem here, so that is interesting. I had a waitress say to me, โyou do know that this doesnโt come with tip, right?โ This happened THREE TIMES by THREE DIFFERENT WAITRESSES. That is BEYOND RUDE to ask a customer. No manners whatsoever. That was the first of the three times I am speaking about. The second time the waitress actually automatically added a 15% tip to my boyfriends bill (she selected it for us before handing the machine over), in which we got rid of and payed the normal price. She was livid and said โoh sorry you didnโt tipโ, as if she had to notify me...... I replied with โwe know....you havenโt even filled my water onceโ and she walked away. The third time I had a waitress pushy with the tips, I had to to express my anger and I literally told her that she was being really rude, and how that is not a normal question to ask a customer. She was literally looking up at the ceiling as I spoke to her, and when I asked her to look at me as Iโm speaking, she literally walked away saying โokay okayโ. This location needs an attitude adjustment IMMEDIATELY. Maybe if they were a bit nicer, theyโd get the tips they think...

I was expecting that service will be nice, or at least okay because we ordered food from them on Ubereats many times before. We just entered through the door, one waitress pointed to the first table, so we came to that table and sat down. After 2 mins, another waitress came and told us to leave to other table, and we didnot understand what was going on because of their directions. We moved to a new table and the waitress asked โyou order all-you-can-eat?โ. I was wondering whether people come here just for AYCE. I asked to see the menu so they gave the menu and came back right away to get the orders. We was so confused that we didnot see the price for AYCE so we decided to find something for A La Carte menu. We were rush to order everything cause they kept coming and โare you ready?โ. They served food really fast as I thought some of them were already made in advance. The food was good as we ordered to delivery a lot before that made us want to come to the restaurant. They served food like putting really hard on the table without saying anything. They made us feel really awkward that whether we were doing something wrong. Moreover, they tried to clear the dishes as soon as possible even when we hadnt finished it, while we were talking, she tried to clean the dish in front of us and realized there was still food on that and she left. I was a bit disappointed about their customer service. I would not think I will come back to their restaurant but might order online if I want to...
