I ordered a cake for my sons birthday online which I had never done before, I usually do it in person every year, but with COVID thought this would be the better option. I thought I had purchased an oreo blizzard cake with a Toronto Maple Leaf theme. Upon pick up the cake looked like the regular leaf cake they keep in the fridge but the printing included happy 7th birthday Nathan. I had asked the cashier to make sure the cake was for sure Oreo blizzard since it was the only one my son will eat, she assured me it was they just make it upside down for the printed imaging. I paid for my cake and left. The following day we sang happy bday and cut into the cake to discover it was not Oreo blizzard and my son couldn't eat a piece of his own cake. I had called the store and was asked to call the next day for the manager. I called the next day and spoke to another girl explaining the situation and I was told to call back again in 15 minutes. When I called back once again she told me to hold while she go him. I could hear them going back and forth and the gentleman wouldn't come on to the phone to talk to me. She explained that I had in fact ordered the regular cake online and not the blizzard like I had thought and I should have noticed this in my email confirmation and called the store to let them know I wanted Oreo blizzard. I agreed with her since I did not actually read my confirmation other then to see the they had received the order, but that it did not excuse the fact that I had asked the employee and she assured me that it was just done upside down. After many times of covering the phone to relay messages back and forth with her boss instead of him coming on the phone I apologized to her for having to deal with such a terrible boss that he won't even come on the phone himself. She asked what I would like done so naturally I said either a refund or an Oreo blizzard cake, not sure what else I would ask for. She told me she would call me back. I guess she had told her boss I wasn't happy he would not come onto the phone himself and how horrible the customer service is considering I could hear him since she wasn't covering the phone completely, because he was the one to phone me back. He started the conversation with "I'm going to be completely blunt here its your fault for ordering the wrong cake" and continuously interrupted me while I was trying to explain I understood I may have done the order wrong but when I asked the employee to confirm it was an Oreo blizzard cake she said it was it was just upside down. He went on to say that it was hear say and if he gave free cakes for every customer that ordered something wrong he would be out of business. Also that his employee was the cashier not the cake maker so she wouldn't know. Again I said I understand that but when I asked her it is her job to verify by looking at the order not just "assuming like I did" since you say customers order the wrong things so frequently. That would have given me the option to either say hey can we just lay this image on a blizzard cake or anything to figure something out, even if I had to pay more for my error. He just kept talking over me, yelling and being extremely rude saying he's the cook, cake maker and helping customers so he is spread thin, which again I said I understand but he should not be taking it out on me. I realized the conversation was going nowhere so I told him I would instead contact the franchise. That is when he told me he doesn't care, he owns his franchise and to never come to his store again. I have purchased an ice cream cake for the past 30 years for myself, 12 years for my husband and 7 years for my son, not to mention all the random ice cream blizzards on summer days. I have never experienced such terrible customer service at DQ and will indeed make his advice of not returning to this location. Make the trip to Danforth and Danforth or pharmacy and St. Clair locations, much cleaner and better...
Read moreI would give this review ZERO stars if it was possible. I visited this location today and had the worst experience. My order was taken down wrong, I let the employees know what my actual order was when they handed me the wrong order (I originally ordered a misty freeze). The employees first tried to give me a blizzard, then the same blizzard was given to me a second time, and then I was just given a regular slushy. Each time I let the employees know that I had ordered a misty freeze, and they continued to give me the wrong order. The last time I let the employee know, he tried to tell me that I was wrong and that what he was giving me was a misty freeze (even though there was clearly NO ice cream in the drink). I had to pull out a photo from the Dairy Queen website of what a misty freeze consisted of, and the employee rolled his eyes, and one of his coworkers instructed him to "just put ice cream in it". The drink was not mixed properly and the employee clearly had just dumped some ice cream into the drink. When the drink was given to me, the employee slammed the drinks down on the table, and proceeded to ask me "is this good enough?". In between all of this, I witnessed another customer have an issue with their order as well, and an uber driver had some of the contents of his order dropped out of the window. When he asked the employee to check on the contents of the bag, the employee was hesitant to check whether the order was in good condition. I have never witnessed such bad customer service, and I've never had employees get an order wrong so many times. I do not recommend this location. Save yourself some time and drive to a Dairy Queen that will actually provide good service...
Read moreI've ordered food from this Dairy Queen in person at the restaurant & online trough Skip The Dishes, both experiences have been terrible.
The restaurant has a poor layout, the staff seem to have trouble navigating around the small corner between the front ice cream area and the back kitchen. It results in very slow service and long lines of disgruntled patrons. The restaurant was also not as clean as it should be. This has been the case each time I've been to the restaurant.
I ordered from this Dairy Queen twice in a row through Skip The Dishes, both orders were missing food items. I ordered a cheeseburger combo and only the drink arrived. I don't understand the consistent lack of accuracy when other fast food restaurants seem to have fewer problems.
Skip The Dishes gave me an $8 credit for my first wrong order. I used the $8 credit from my first orders towards my 2nd order which was also missing items. I was only refunded $8 in credit and Skip The Dishes refused to refund my original $8 credit so I lose out on that because of this Dairy Queen's incompetence. I believe I should of received $16 in total for 2 wrong orders.
Overall, I was a fan of Dairy Queen but this restaurant's unabashed mediocrity in all aspects of the dining experience have soured me on the brand and I recommend everyone else to stay away from Dairy Queen & Skip The Dishes. Please stick with McDonald's...
