Easy Mealz — Restaurant in Toronto

Extremely disappointed with this company. I have been ordering 10 meals on a weekly basis for the past two months. This totals to $1000 in orders. I was extremely supportive of this Toronto based local business, and really enjoyed their meals. I recommended their meals to my friends, family and coworkers - a few of them had also purchased meals after my recommendation. This past week, I recieved a charge that was 33% (41$) higher than my prior charges. I understand that inflation has been impacting food and hospitality services hard; they do need to increase prices at some point. I would have gladly paid this additional fee if they had sent me an email before the charge and informed me of the reasonings behind the increase. However, the fact that they randomly increased my bill by that amount in one week with no email notice is extremely deceptive.

I reached out to them and they told me they posted an update on their blog about price increases. They expect customers to constantly check their blog for updates on price increases, but can't send out a simple email notification? In addition to this - their blog update only says "Subscribers can expect their weekly renewal amount to increase by only a few dollars per week." A 33% price increase is not a few extra...

I'm very excited and will write a follow up review of their food once eaten, but the order process and delivery is flawless. The food looks amazing, the packaging is compact and minimalistic and the delivery bag.. FINALLY! a BAG! With a HANDLE! So tired of carrying food boxes. How convenient to have a handle honestly. Edit : after having eaten their food for a week I can attest to what all other positive reviews are saying. Amazing and flavourful, time saving and honestly not that expensive if you break it all down. I live alone and really don't want to cook just for me. I really like this service because it controls my portion size as well as giving me more variety than if I were to cook myself. I'm eating better and hope to lose a little weight. I order enough for a week of dinners and some lunches. The quality of the food is excellent and well-priced - good value for money. Packaging is great and meals easily reheat in the microwave in just a few minutes. Delivery is reliable and has been no problem. Drivers are courteous and on time.
