Scarborough just got a little more flavorful with the arrival of a new Jamaican restaurant that’s already making waves for its authentic Caribbean cuisine. If you’ve been searching for the best Jamaican food in Scarborough, look no further—this hidden gem delivers the real deal. I recently visited and tried their stew pork, and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience.
From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm island vibes. The aroma of jerk seasoning, pimento, thyme, and slow-simmered meats filled the air and instantly transported me to a Jamaican grandmother’s kitchen. It’s clear this spot is run by people who know and love traditional Jamaican cooking.
Now let’s talk about that stew pork.
This dish was everything you want it to be: tender, juicy, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection. The meat fell apart effortlessly, coated in a thick, dark gravy that was a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and slightly sweet. You could tell it had been slow-cooked for hours with fresh ingredients—garlic, scotch bonnet, ginger, browning, and fresh herbs all playing their part to create a deeply layered flavor profile.
Served with a generous helping of rice and peas, fried plantain, and steamed vegetables, the portion size was hearty and satisfying. The rice and peas were fluffy and fragrant with coconut milk and allspice, pairing perfectly with the richness of the pork. Every bite was a reminder that this wasn’t fast food—it was soul food.

I ordered a small Fried Chicken with Rice and Peas and Curry Goat gravy. The chicken was very well seasoned and the meat dripped from the bone. The curry goat gravy was literally full-of-flavor and had my tastebuds happy as can be. The rice and peas were a little soft and did not have a lot of coconut … the peas were soft.
The atmosphere is festive. The murals on the walls show the owners pride in being a part of the City of Toronto and his roots coming from Jamaica. He took the time to tell me about his community back home as well as his love and passion for cooking.
There is a lot of free parking in the parking lot in front of the store. It is wheel chair accessible. Located just north of Eglinton this restaurant is convenient for people who...
