Let’s start with entering their store — you’ll see a variety of breads with different flavors. But the glass on their showcase was already foggy and unclear, which wasn’t very inviting for me. I bought hot pandesal, and this time it was actually hot. However, there have been many times when we bought from them and the pandesal wasn’t hot at all.

To Harina Family, if you truly care about your business, please do better. It shouldn’t just be about making sales — we, your loyal customers, trust you to give us the best quality products. So please, if it’s labeled hot pandesal, then make sure it’s actually hot, not cold. It feels like we’re being fooled.

Another concerning thing was their staff. The saleslady was very unapproachable, had a rude tone, and didn’t smile at all. Please train your staff — it feels like she’s working there against her will, and clearly not happy with what she’s doing.

Overall: I won’t be buying again from Harina Wilson Avenue. The staff isn’t friendly, and they’re selling stale or old products. The “hot” pandesal isn’t even hot most of the time.

To the owner of Harina, maybe it’s time to take a closer look at your business and your staff. I’m not telling other consumers not to buy here — I’m just sharing my personal review. There are a lot of Filipino bakeries around Toronto that are cleaner and have much...

I am very particular on what is being used as ingredients on what I eat. Here is my honest review and I even called the Wilson branch and talked to someone to tell the owner of what I discovered:

Malunggay Pandesal with CHEESE – more expensive than the plain pandesal. The cheese that this bakery uses is not the REAL CHEESE but the PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE. You are charging your customers more money (and it is not that the plain pandesal is cheap coz it is not, and the taste is not a WOOOW pandesal because it is comparable with the ones bought from other Filipino bakeries). That is why I thought eating your malunggay pandesal was not something that was sooo delicious but more on the sweet side because apparently you are not using the real cheese but a processed one – Philadelphia cream cheese which is cheaper than the real cheeses.

Your hopia ube and hopia “baboy” could be improved a lot. It is packed but the taste is sub standard of what a hopia is supposed to be. The filling is so thick.

With the 2 items above, I don’t think I would like to spend my money on the other goodies you have. I hope you would improve on your products.

Also, with what I have discovered, I don’t mind driving from Durham Region to Baker’s Best Bakery at 4915 Steeles Ave....

Their bread is good but the customer service is HORRIBLE. The debit terminal was not working and had me try twice on the same terminal. I noticed the second one did go through but they insisted for me to try a third time on a different terminal. They just kept saying it wasn't approved in their end. I checked my online banking shortly and there were two charges. The bakery refused to help me right away and told me they are too busy and to call the bank instead. As someone who has worked in retail for almost 15 years I was astonished that they were quick to pass the blame and not try to help me first. I called the bank and I was told to go back as it would be faster or it would take over a week to get my money back. Inside the bake shop, I showed my online banking portal showing the two transactions. The one gentleman kept asking me to figure out my previous balance before both transactions and to make sure that it was reduced twice. I called the bank again had them verify it was done twice and the gentleman insisted about the previous balance again. The bank verified with them multiple times before the bakery gave me back the money. And to add on, they didn't even apologize once for the inconvenience. All I can say is...

Harina Bakeshoppe sells a number of Filipino breads including pandesal, ube pandesal, monay, Spanish bread, pan de coco, ensaymada, as well as other pies and cakes like buko pie and sans rival. The bread is baked fresh in-house daily. The dozen plain pandesal ($3.50) that I ordered was given to me in a paper bag, still warm from the oven (so good!). It had a slightly firmer exterior than Baker’s Best, and was less sweet and dense, which I really enjoyed. Hubby and I really enjoyed their pan de coco. The bread was soft, with lots of fresh grated coconut. We both really appreciated that it was sizeable and not too sweet. The ube pandesal is not ube filled and did not have an ube flavour as I would have hoped. A dozen pre-packaged ube pandesal came to $3.50. We also purchased the ube bars, which were not as moist and lacked the more prominent ube flavour as I would have expected. They were coated in a generous amount of coconut, and the flavour overall was good. They limit the number of people in the store to three customers at a time . Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back for their fresh baked plain pandesal, pan de coco, and to try some other specialty breads.

Small Filipino bakery with the best fresh pandesal. They sell baked goods like monay, ube bread, pan de coco, hopia (pork/ube), spanish bread, cheese cupcakes, cakes, pies etc. I have bought a lot of pandesal in the gta, but this bakery makes it the best and sells it like its fresh out of the oven. It is not packaged in plastic, they give it to you in a brown paper bag. It tastes very fresh, dense and not too sweet. I also bought their ube hopia, it is very vibrant in colour and moist inside. It doesnt have a strong taste of the ube, nevertheless it still tastes good. Service was great, they greeted me and answered my questions. Prices are reasonably priced. I have yet to try other products. Will come back again

When I first opened the bag my father bought me, I immediately noticed something wasn’t right. The bread looked flat and undercooked, compared to previous purchases. While I’m not complaining about the taste, the cooking was off—especially in the middle, which was elastic and noticeably undercooked. I understand that cooking under pressure or with many customers can lead to inconsistencies, but it was still disappointing to receive food that wasn’t fully cooked. It ended up being a waste of money, as I had to discard the food. It’s frustrating when something so delicate can be prepared with more care.
