Hazels is anything but your average diner! The staff and food were amazing. I hosted a brunch for my mom’s birthday for 16 guests and the table was prepped nicely for my guests. We had the honour of meeting the chef and owner. He was super friendly and accommodating and ensured we enjoyed our meal. He put on some music so we could have an upbeat atmosphere and also turned on the heat as it was super cold that day. The food was amazing, everyone who attended had countless compliments. The portions were hefty and the flavour was great as everything was seasoned well. Tea and coffee refills came around often so no one had an empty cup. As well, their mimosas were very yummy! We brought in our own dessert- for allergy reasons, the staff willingly offered to take it to the kitchen to keep it cold for us until we were ready to serve. They cleaned up the table and prepped us for dessert with small forks and plates. Dessert was brought out with a candle and a fruit rosette tower. They even played a happy birthday song for the whole diner to sing along to! To continue the celebration, our table was given a round of limoncello shots on the house! This was definitely an unforgettable experience! Hazel’s has the most attentive and accommodating staff members and this truly was the highlight of my mom’s day. Thank you Hazel’s for a great service, meal and experience. We will definitely be there again soon!

Been here several times and this time definitely did not disappoint! It's probably because we came here at 9 AM, but we had no wait and were seating right away. The waitresses were attentive throughout our meal in asking how we were doing and making sure our cups were refilled of water. My go-to item is normally the Natasha Benedict, but this time I decided to get one of their specials: Hazel's Hash. I was so glad I did. I twas a chorizo sausage and jalapeno pepper hash with home fries and 3 eggs (in any style). It was tasty and delicious and a good portion. My friend got the Mexican Benedict, which was also quite tasty. I liked the corn biscuit. And my other friend got the Smoked Salmon & Avocado omelette (egg-white omelette). I was surprised at the amount of flavour the egg-white omelette had. It was quite delicious as well. Each dish was $15, which is slightly pricey, but also it seems like average brunch prices? Overall, we were happy and satisfied. Would go again!

2 rating represents the only positive part of this experience, referring directly to the pleasant server who suffered my criticism Why do low? Simple...ordered over easy, well done toast buttered, crispy bacon. Result: over med-hard, cold (and I mean cold) potatoes, soggy bacon only half cooked, everything on one plate, luke warm coffee, tap water. Criticism:excuses offered for new cook, plate returned a 2nd time with more home fries on top of the doggy bacon (yes, soggy the 2nd time), toast with a dab of butter in the center (more like dry toast), eggs were much better 2nd time. Sorry guys but breakfast is my feel-good meal if the day. And what's with the 1st question on the Covid declaration? I added a photo. Cost (with taxes, tip, and parking) = $18.56

TLDR: Food was 10/10 but O.M.G. the service was so bad. The food was NOT worth the hour-long wait. Tables who ordered after us were done eating by the time we got our food.

We came in 2 Sundays ago. Was seated fairly quickly and ordered within 10 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes for our food, our server comes over and asks us to remind her of what we ordered. At this point we were quite certain she forgot to put our order in and was trying to find the page in her notebook.

After reminding her of our order, I asked her if the order had been placed already and she hesitatingly said yes. By this point, 2 other tables who came and ordered after us had already gotten their food.

We waited another 15 minutes, still no food. So we asked her again if she really did put the order in the first time and she insisted she did. I then asked her to bring me my toast first and she seemed confused. My friend explained to her that I wasn't feeling well and needed some food so if we could get the toast first that'd be great. She was still confused. After our party of 3 explained our simple request to her 4 times, she asked me to confirm if I WANTED the rest of my meal LATER and the toast first. I explained to her I don't WANT my food later, I wanted it all together asap, but since it didn't seem like I was going to get my food anytime soon and I wasn't feeling well, then give me the toast first. She went back to the kitchen and ...surprise surprise, didn't bring me anything. She ended up giving us all our food another 15 minutes later, so basically an hour after we ordered. The funniest part was that my meal was MISSING TOAST. How did me asking her to bring the toast first turn into cancel the toast??!? I had to ask the manager to bring me toast.

The whole time the manager guy kept walking around and made eye contact with me multiple times and must have noticed that our table looked irritated, and WITHOUT FOOD for an hour, and not once did he come to check up on us.

Oh and also, there were fruit-flies zipping around us while we ate which was quite disgusting. So 0 for atmosphere and -10 for service if I could give any lower than a 0. I wouldn't come back here even if food was free. Definitely not worth the wait...

TLDR: This place lies about their menu items and gaslights you when you point out issues and sprinkle in some light racism. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant.

Ordered an apple juice which was listed as freshly squeezed but was very clearly from concentrate. Then the grilled fish I ordered came. First bite looked okay but the second bite I saw that it was a bit raw, and even more raw into the thicker section of the meat.

I asked the waitress about this expecting the simple solution to be "oh so sorry, let me grill it up for you". NOPE. She didn't know what to do and went to get the manager who told me THEY MAKE THEIR FISH MEDIUM RARE! and it was my fault for not ordering it another way. How would I have known that? This wasn't mentioned when I ordered it. she took it away to get grilled up. Then another guy came and explained to me they have always made their fish medium rare.

The manager then came back again and told me again that they serve it medium rare (why do I need to be told that 3 different times?). I told her I've never heard of medium rare fish anywhere. THEN SHE ASKED ME WHERE I'M FROM. I replied I was born and raised here. I think she was going to try to explain to me that Canadians have fish medium rare which is obviously not true.

At this point, I mentioned while she was here, I wanted to point out that the apple juice listed under the freshly squeezed juices was not in fact freshly squeezed. She said yeah sorry we need to change our menu. and I said yes, because its false advertising and she said well we also have soft drinks listed so obviously not everything there is freshly squeezed. I let her know that was obvious because you can't freshly squeeze coke but you can freshly squeeze apple juice so it needs to be changed. She just smiled and said sorry and left. Looking at other reviews, seems they have done the same to the orange juice

You would have thought they would have at least comped the apple juice since they admitted they shouldn't have had it under freshly squeezed but nope. The service here SUCKS. They don't care about the customer experience here. Avoid at all costs. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in...

We walked past this place a few weeks ago, when we were out walking our dog. There was a substantial line of people waiting for tables, so we thought we'd give it a try to see what all the fuss was about. Sad to say, this was a real disappointment.

They have a really great selection of items on the menu, with some creative and unique combinations of Eggs Benny and Hash. At the table, there was a small sign advertising freshly squeezed orange juice, which we love and buy all the time at our local grocery store.

We ordered 2 large orange juices, the Eggs Natasha and the Trucker's.

The "freshly squeezed" oj is actually brought in from an outside source, (as per the server) and tastes like what you'd buy from the chilled section of your grocery store. Smacks of false advertising to me, as by that standard, all orange juice would be"freshly squeezed" at some point in the process of getting to your table.

The Trucker's was substantial - your standard diner fare. The pancakes were nice; fluffy and perfectly cooked. Nothing amazing but hearty.

The Eggs Natasha were really tiny (the pancake base was about the size of a cookie - nothing like the pictures online), was missing the sour cream, had very little smoked salmon and the hollandaise tasted like NOTHING. (I make my own hollandaise from scratch, so I'm familiar with what it's supposed to taste like.) The sauce would even lose in a battle to packaged Knorr hollandaise mix in terms of flavor.

With the thought and creativity of the menu, we feel that the quality and presentation is sadly lacking...
