This is a review for delivery At My Roti Place, the filling of their veggie samosas ($5.95 for two) is even more reminiscent of spring: the potatoes are mashed and mixed with peas and other vegetables to create an airy light bite. Meanwhile, the wrapper is still a thicker variety that soaks in the oil – it would be great if these were drained a bit longer – so it’s not necessarily fully summer friendly. Since it was my first visit, a classic roti seemed like a smart start, the shell is super thin and slightly chewy so that it helps hold together the thick saucy filling but melts away as you’re eating. These are a knife and fork eat as the saag paneer roti ($11.95) incorporated huge chunks of the soft Indian cheese and plenty of thick green spinach sauce that just tingles the tongue at the medium spice level – I think I can advance a step in my next order. While the spinach-based roti was tasty, the mom’s classic curry was even better and will become my go-to sauce mixed with any protein - a safe combination is pairing it with chicken ($12.95). My Roti Place doesn’t skimp on the meat as there were large pieces of chicken breast scattered throughout. I do need to figure out how to best re-heat the roti the next day. The go-to toaster oven method was decent and created a bit of crunch around the taller edges, but the centre was still so mushy. Maybe I’ll toast it in a frying pan next time to develop a crust on all sides. The dinner arrived with complimentary fried chip rings (savoury with a hint of spice) and dessert. Normally, I’ve shy away from gulab jamun as they are too sugary for my liking. My Roti Place’s version is a perfect balanced ending – I can best describe it as an old fashion plain Timbit soaked in a sweet thin sauce, you’d associate with crème caramel. It’s absolutely delicious.

Nice, but more if a "my curry place" as the curry was far the start of the plate and the roti was disappointing. I had the lamb roti. Full disclosure, I grew up eating Guyanese cusine, and more familiarity with Caribbean/West Indian roti - which is different. That being said... My impression of the "roti skin" is that it was thin, flimsy, without flavor. It didn't really add anything to the plate, other than encapsulation of the lamb curry, in fact when I first pierced the "roti skin" the curry splurted out like I was a surgeon on an episode of Food Amsterdam (no, that's not a show but maybe it should be). Maybe it helps fill out the serving size for the price 🤷 Lucky for me (and my super white Super Dry shirt) I ate it in the plastic container, the shell would not have contained the curry if I tried to hold it my hands. That lamb curry tho, despite being soupy, was pretty tasty and the meat was tender. I would have preferred the lamb curry with Naan but better yet on rice or some kinda potato or yam... or even just by itself.

Late night visit to this place and it turned out to be an awesome experience. Start off with parking I went here on a Saturday after midnight so I had no issue finding on street parking infront of the restaurant during the day might be harder to find parking however, there's parking on the street and near by side streets available. Inside is small and cozy, decent decor and clean. Staff was a young Indian gentleman who was extremely accommodating, professional and polite. Food selection was plenty, for vegans and vegetarians lots of options to pick from. I'm a picky eater so I actually asked him if he could make me dosa that was not on the menu and made from ingredients I wanted and sure enough after 10 minutes it was made exactly the way I ordered, food tasted good, I also tried the mango lassi which was good. Prices were reasonable for the portion and service you receive. Overall 5 star for the food, the staff and location.

I started ordering their chicken dum briyani since last week n everything was good the first 2 times, then the quality of their food & service started decreasing. The food spicy level fluctuates everyday. Their female cashiers r nice n pay attention to details. Their male cashiers r arrogant & disgraceful. Yesterday they packed my food with broken lid of raita n gulab jamun n the liquid fell on the bag till i reached home. Today another male cashier who apparently is a manager as i was told by their chef, was not accepting his mistakes at all. I cudn't hear him over the phone at all neither did he cud hear me bcuz their background music was so loud. I was close by so i disconnected n stopped by to place the order in person. I didnt say a word until he was done with the lady infront of me. Bcuz of courtesy also the music was still loud. Once he started taking my order i spoke loudly to give him my order to make sure there is no mistake n i specifically told him no garnishing. N he even repeated it to me saying no garnishing n i confirmed him again. But when i was double checking my order to make sure there is no broken lid i saw they put garnishing in there. N i told them i said no garnishing. He refused to admit he made a mistake n lied to the chef saying he didnt hear over the phone bcuz he was talking to someone else. I said i only want the remake if its quick they said 5 mins. I said ok. I didnt say anything at this point that he took my order in person not in the phone. but the remake was taking longer than they told me n i m super tired so i said just refund me the money i want to go home. The guy started getting furious saying he didnt hear me over the phone. I kept telling him i never placed the order on phone u cudnt even hear the name of the dish. Thats y i came in person n u were not talking with anybody else while taking my order. U even repeated it to me no garnishing then he was trying to shift blame on me saying no u never said "no garnishing". I said check ur cameras. He was reluctant to give me the refund but when at the end he was too arrogant to accept his mistake so voided the transaction n refunded me the money. If this is the manager's attitude who is too proud to accept his own mistake then may god bless the one he is training. The chef said owner never comes so i can see y the manager thinks he owns the place now. Again more than welcome to check cameras if u care how ur customers r being treated. Also the place became so slippery due to rain outside, no carpet, no rag inside n u can trip anytime. So they also need to work on their safety and hazard or can just wait until a customer sue them. I really liked the spicy food but the service i got today,...
