Seems I'm of the group that feels these guys deserve a strong review. Overall experience seems to be hit and miss over the past year - I'm going to chalk that up to when people are ordering and whether or not they're doing take out. My first experience here when I dined in, before COVID, was excellent. They were not busy, but the food quality was excellent, portions were good, and value for the meal seemed solid. There's parking, and if I remember correctly, they took credit card.

This past meal I ordered through UberEats, during their BOGO where they limited that to the beef & chicken kofta. Both were delicious. I'll agree with a recent reviewer who remarked during BOGO they may reduce the amount of rice a bit. I'm not sure how much rice they normally give, but I felt there was still plenty of rice in the rectangular aluminum container it was packed in. If anything, it seemed poorly presented as a skewer of meat and a bed of rice - very plain, nothing else, maybe a bit of sumac sprinkled on top. However, I will say both the (ground) chicken and (ground) beef skewers were excellent. Mild on the palette, can't say they're all that spicy, but rather, well spiced, seasoned enough, but not overly so - definitely not salty or heavy handed.

Compared to other Afghani kebab places, as I'm no expert, never been there, but if it's a regional difference, I'll say these guys kebabs are tastier, better cooked (more moist) than any other place I've tried so far - including the biggest name which I'm sure we all know.

The naan is good, but below the aforementioned most popular franchise - theirs is slighter thinner, but has a nicer smell to it. However, Kandahar's naan can easily be reheated in an air fryer when doused in water - just like new!

As most of the pictures show, the salad is definitely a weak point here. I agree with others, it doesn't look as appetizing.

For me, the star of the show was the Kandahar Kabab chicken dish. The meat was very moist, tasty, and unlike another place I had tried, the marinade didn't turn the chicken into mush. That one was revolting and made us want to gag. This one was excellent, tasted great, and texture was fantastic - reminds me of when I take the extra time and care to prepare my chicken and slow cook it.

Another stand out to me over some of their competitors is the sauce - both sauces they give actually, the spicy orange coloured one and the white sauce (which looks like it's got dill/coriander leaves in it). They compliment the rice and meat very well. I saw in some of the pictures the white sauce is also on the salad - but I thought it went very well with the meat too! The naan dipped in the orange sauce was also quite good.

I'm sure you could deduct a point or two based upon service or a bad experience - saw someone mentioning them not running AC in the summer - brutal. However, if you're ordering take out, I'm purely basing this on the quality of food for the price. It's hard not to give them full marks - it's a very tasty meal for a very...

I went onto kandahar website and ordered food for delivery online . I filled out my name , email, full address etc.. the charge was made through uber eats but on kandahar.com website! It did not tell me to sign in ubereats but once i filled out my name and details and the order was purchased, I could not locate my order through uber eats because it was made from the restaurant website thats connected through ubereats. Due to the high amount i called right away to get the order cancelled . I called kandahar support because i could not locate my order through uber eats account. The guy on the phone told me the restaurant will call me back but they couldnt help cancel the order because the purchase was made from uber eats. I recieved an email from uber eats of my reciept from kandahar, but I can't locate my order on ubereats at all. Their customer service is terrible. They don't listen and they hung up on me and ignored me. I drove to the restaurant explaining this problem and they still won't hear me out. They told me the order was dispatched already from uber eats and should be delivered to me but that's not the case. I called right away to cancel the order due to high amount and I also did not even recieve the order! Again the restaurant said call uber support to resolve the issue. Uber support could not locate my order with the order number I provided. DO NOT ORDER FROM KANDAHAR WEBSITE IT WILL CHARGE YOU THROUGH UBER EATS AND YOU WONT LOCATE YOUR ORDER. It doesn't make any sense. Very poor customer service on both ends. This restaurant is now under investigation due to their terrible customer service and scamming people by taking their money through their website and blaming it on uber eats. The guys who answer the calls for kandahar customer service...

Came due to my cousin's recommendation and totally loved it. It's a self-serve restaurant so you order at the counter, pick your food up once they call your number, and clear your own table upon finishing your meal. Oftentimes I've seen crumbs or tissues left on the tables.

I've tried the kabul kabab, sardari kabab, boldac kabab, tikka kabab, 1/2 Chicken, lamb chops, and the kk fish. As a glutton, I can finish one double kabab platter by myself but for those who are not as voracious, a double kabab platter is enough to share between two people.

My favorite is the sardari kabab. The chicken breast is tender and juicy, nothing you would expect chicken breast to taste like. Skip the 1/2 chicken. It's nothing special. For those who are sensitive to smells, avoid the dishes with lamb. Every time I've had it, it's been gamey and fatty. For those who do order it, get the lamb chops by themselves. The seasoning is different from the lamb chops in the kabab platters which lack flavor. The fish was slightly overcooked but delicious nonetheless.

Scene stealers are the white sauce and the red sauce. I don't think I would like the food here as much if it weren't for the sauces. They taste good mixed with rice or as a dip for the meats. What's interesting about the red sauce is that it makes you crave for more even though it's on the spicier side. Once it starts getting too spicy, switch to the creamy white sauce; it's a good counter for the heat. Too bad they don't sell buckets of...

I had take out from this location and was SO INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED. I will never, ever be coming back here. My first issue is the size of the salad that came with the kebabs. I ordered the Sultani kebab and the chicken breast kebab dishes (low carb, keto version which is essentially no rice or carbs, its just the salad and the meat). The "salad" was bits and pieces of lettuce with sour tomatoes and cucumbers. It looks absolutely nothing like what was pictured in the menu. And the lettuce wasn't fresh, evident by the brown edges on the lettuce. My 2nd issue, and the most important one was the black hair that was on the kebab, which made me completely lose interest in dinner. And 2 platters of 4 kebabs and salads cost us $40. Such a disappointment. I had to add my own romaine, cucumbers and tomatoes to the salad to make it a proper meal. This franchise is normally very delicious, but I will only go to the one at East York Town Centre now, which is a newer, CLEANER and larger location. I've eaten there before and was very pleased with the portion sizes, freshness, quality, taste and oh...the absence of the hair in the food. This location does not deserve 1 star.

I’ve been to Kandahar Kabab several times now, and it’s become one of my go-to spots for Afghan cuisine in Scarborough. From the Kabuli Pulao to the chicken and beef kebabs, and even the grill platter, everything I’ve tried has been consistently flavorful and satisfying. The taste is authentically Afghan — well-seasoned meats, fragrant rice, and that signature char from the grill that makes each bite stand out. The Kabuli Pulao especially deserves a mention: tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, and sweet carrots and raisins that balance the savory richness. Portions here are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. It’s a self-service setup, which works fine — the food more than makes up for the casual format. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and simple — I’d rate it a solid 4/5. It’s not a fine-dining experience, but it’s a great place to enjoy a hearty meal with friends or family. Overall, Kandahar Kabab is a reliable and delicious spot if you’re craving Afghan grill in the east end of Toronto. Definitely worth repeat visits.
