I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kibo Sushi, specifically the Wilson branch in Toronto. Overall, I would rate my experience with four stars, as the restaurant had much to offer, albeit with a slight concern.
Kibo Sushi is a haven for sushi enthusiasts, and the variety of sushi options on their menu is impressive. From classic rolls to creative combinations, there is something to satisfy every palate. The sushi itself was well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and skillful presentation. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the mastery of the sushi chefs.
However, there was one aspect that slightly detracted from the overall enjoymentâthe sushi had a pronounced fishy taste. While some sushi lovers appreciate a stronger fish flavor, it personally leaned a bit too fishy for my taste. It's important to note that this preference may vary from person to person, and it shouldn't discourage anyone from trying the sushi at Kibo Sushi. Nonetheless, it's worth mentioning as it may not appeal to those who prefer a milder taste.
The ambiance of the Wilson branch was pleasant and inviting, creating a comfortable setting for a meal. The staff members were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations.
In terms of pricing, Kibo Sushi offers reasonable rates for the quality and variety of sushi they provide. It's a great option for both casual outings and special occasions, as they offer a range of menu options to suit different preferences and budgets.
In summary, Kibo Sushi at the Wilson branch in Toronto is a sushi lover's paradise. While the sushi may have had a slightly stronger fishy taste than expected, the overall quality and variety make it a worthwhile dining experience. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff members are attentive and friendly. If you're a fan of sushi with a bolder flavor profile, Kibo Sushi may become your go-to...
Read moreIt's strange because I've been a customer since they opened this location and this issue has never come up before. I often order the daily special and I ask for steamed yam instead of tempura because of a dietary restriction and they charge a dollar extra, which I pay, no problem.
Over the weekend I wanted to order this exact meal again (have done so several times before) and the chef refused to make it. They said it was too much trouble for a daily special item, yet again they had done this several times before and would charge extra for the change, and I would pay the extra fee. Now they refuse.
No more business from me.
UPDATE: There's no way in this interface to reply to the owner's reply, thanks for your reply. Yes, it was the Wilson location. I don't think I am the person you described, I was pretty clear in my request because I've done it so often but the chef was talking to the cashier who answered my call a couple or so times during the call and then the cashier said because it's a cheap order it's too much trouble to steam the yam so...
