I visited Pur N Simple for brunch yesterday and had a mixed experience. The wait time for a table was about 30 minutes, which seemed reasonable given the busy brunch hour. The ambiance of the place was pleasant and inviting, adding a nice touch to the overall dining experience.
However, my meal did not meet expectations. I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon, anticipating a fresh and flavorful dish. Unfortunately, the smoked salmon provided was far from fresh. Its pale color was the first sign of disappointment, followed by an overwhelmingly fishy taste that lingered unpleasantly, even after trying to mask it with something sweet. Despite my discomfort, I chose not to complain, thinking perhaps this was just the standard for this dish at Pur N Simple.
Regrettably, my experience took a turn for the worse after leaving the restaurant. I developed a headache and stomach issues, leading me to believe that the dish may have been responsible. In the end, I had no choice but to discard the remaining portion of my meal. The coffee was good and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was delicious.
On a positive note, the service at Pur N Simple was commendable. My brother generously left a $20 tip, reflecting our satisfaction with the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. While the rest of my family enjoyed their meals without complaint, my personal encounter with the avocado toast with smoked salmon was disappointing and led to an unfortunate end to my day.
I hope my feedback can help Pur N Simple address and improve the quality of their dishes, ensuring that future customers have a wholly enjoyable...
Read moreCame on a Saturday around noon, took a while to be greeted but was seated quickly. A modern chic breakfast place with a variety of items and nice decor for the Instagrammers. Quite loud and tables are pretty close together (I could reach over to take the next table’s coffee if I wanted to). Certain sections of the restaurant near the door get breezy and no one wanted to sit there lol.
Partner originally wanted a skillet but upon seeing the portion size, decided against (personally think it’s ridiculously small for the price). Both opted for benedicts with spicy hollandaise and homefries. The homefries were really good, probably would have liked it a little crisper but they’re not too salty and were fluffy on the inside. Personally like more hollandaise on my benedicts to dip my homefries in, but getting poached soft eggs helps to make it saucy. Would definitely recommend the norwegian benedict. Partner got the don chorizo benedict, with cheese and meats, looked pretty yummy as well. Their bottomless coffee is alright here, nothing special. Caramel cappuccino was decent as well, impressed that they served Nespresso and other speciality coffee drinks.
Overall, a decent place for breakfast/brunch with friends but not great for families with babies/kids, those who want a quiet atmosphere, and not handicap friendly. Expect it to get busy near the afternoon and on weekends, though turnover seems pretty fast. Definitely more of a place for groups to chit chat. Our server Vanessa...
Read moreGreat breakfast/brunch place with an amazing menu! You'll need a lot of time with their menu as it has over 11 categories to choose from ranging from eggs, waffles, crepes, pancakes and skillets. The interior of the restaurant was very cute and nature-filled! Definitely recommended for brunch!
The menu paper placemats are double-sided with 1 corner for the bread options and also a mini menu if you're not too full for "2 Eggs with choice of"! They also have P&S potatoes that can be substituted with potato latkes!
The portion sizes are very generous (sausages comes in orders of 3) and lots to eat, so make sure to come with an empty stomach! The food is delicious and our table ordered the "popular" (Farm Fresh Eggs), "Mish Mash" omelet (Gourmet Omelettes), and the "Maple Cinnamon Danish" (Lighten Up). Our table was full and exceptionally satisfied!
The prices are roughly the same as some other brunch places I've been to (Sunset Grill, Sunny Morning, Eggspectation and Eggsmart to list a few). Customer service was pretty good! On Sunday, we came at 10:30am but turns out more staff come in at 11am so we had to wait as they stopped taking some customers due to not enough servers, but they will take your number to call you. Even with this setback, the wait was worth it! Also, closing our bill was great as they had technology to hand-held print each bill at the table which I thought was pretty neat. Contactless option was...
