Lola's Catering — Restaurant in Toronto

My first encounter with Lola's catering was when I made the mistake of calling. I called to ask if i could order in advance as I work far away from their location and knew I would get there close to closing time (7pm). The person on the phone told me no we do not that and proceeded to hang up before I could even say another word.

A few months later despite this encounter I stupidly decided to go there because I was craving egusi. After travelling for over an 1hr i was told they do not serve any swallows or soups, they had ran out of Ayamashe and only had jollof rice and white rice (not even fried rice). So I ordered jollof rice + puff puff which wasn't what I wanted and went home.

In conclusion, they only serve rice and snacks it seems like and definitely wasn't worth my trip there. They only get 2 stars because the Jrice was alright so I decided to be objective. Otherwise zero stars because what Nigerian food place doesnt sell...

First of all, the food is great. I would reccomend any of the Nigerian snacks. Sadly, that's where the good ends.

The customer service was atrocious. The lady that I dealt with on the phone for a catering order was very rude. She put in no effort and did the bare minimum. The order was not completed at the agreed upon time and in general was an unpleasant experience. As a Nigerian, I speak for us as a whole when I say we need to better with our customer service. How do we expect other cultures to learn about our food if we treat them disrespectfully? I have gotten used to such treatment at Nigerian restaurants but this was particularly bad. Very poor customer service! I had never been here before so I thought I would call ahead to see if they have the food pre- prepared or if I would have to order ahead. I was about to drive an hour to get there so I wanted to be sure they had what I wanted. I asked she had meat pie and if they had up to 20 (because I wanted to order a lot). The person I spoke to said she does not have the time to count or check. I was shocked because I did not ask her to physically count it. All she could have said is we usually stock a lot of it... or if you order ahead of time I can have it ready for x date and that would be fine.
