Sweetnuthin’s Dessert Shoppe — Restaurant in Toronto

I'm posting this on my husbands account because I just have to tell people to visit this shoppe. Not only did I have a great interaction with the person hand-crafting these desserts, I got a really good look at the skill and dedication from her and her family running it... and then we TASTED everything.

I feel like I spend my whole life in pursuit of a good dessert. I'm one of those people whose biggest compliment is "It's not too sweet!" I am not exaggerating when I say these were a dream come true. The Oreo cupcake has cream frosting that perfectly compliments the dark chocolate cake. The strawberry and Bailey's cheesecake were both so well balanced, neither of us could believe it.

And y'all. Listen. It's AFFORDABLE.

This is located in the back of the downsview merchants market alongside other restaurants. They always have a fantastic variety of cakes, cheesecakes, and cookie brownies that they bake fresh during the day. They also have 8 different flavours of ice cream at any given time and a slushy machine. Service is always exceptional and they are happy to explain everything they have in their cases. In addition to the enormous variety of baked goods, they also offer funnel cakes, waffles, bubble waffles, and crepes. You can tell the bakers are very passionate about what they make. The portions are huge (cakes barely fit into their containers) and prices are great. I have tried most of their offerings (they're always trying new recipes) and have enjoyed them all. Unfortunately this location is only open on weekends but on weekdays you can find...

Had the banana frosting cheesecake after our lunch. the size of it was giant, first of all. The lady was alike - let me serve that in the box, in case you need to take some home. We were pretty full from lunch but decided to clean the cake up anyway coz it was so good.

We went back for the Oreo cheesecake to bring back for dessert for the next day. Oh boy that did...
