We were there around 6pm , there were no people when we came , suddenly about 3 people came and started looking at the food as well ( some food look as if from yesterday) then the owner ( I asked someone who he was ) suddenly came out from nowhere in a loud voice - without smiling or having a pleasant face )said hmm you guys should fall in line instead of crowding the front of the display Well if you are done shopping then you should fall in line but if you are just looking at the food I don’t think you have to The server didn’t have her mask on while talking to customers in front of the food The place did not appear to be pleasant to me I heard a lot of negative things about this store but since we were in the area we tried at least The owner appears to be frowning on customer as if you are not welcome in his store Plus the food is so pricey…. What I hate most is the staff especially the owner probably think they are the only Filifino store in Toronto I regret spending my money here Either this store should stop being unfriendly and rude to customers or we should find another store that appreciates our business NEVER AGAIN!! Not a happy customer !
Update: The owner not willing to accept our observation and calls it accusation He wants the people to stop doing reviews ( which he calls damaging his reputation) instead of correcting the complaints He also claims he is a fighter and won’t correct the situation What a terrible reply If he just apologize and promise to get better I could have deleted my review and write a...
Read moreTagpuan is a filipino restaurant. Of course I could not figure that out myself till I step inside. I would say I was lucky to find this hidden gem by the crazy toronto traffic. I saw the place and thinking to take a break from the traffic. Back to the food, this is a like a fast food restaurant and mini-market on one side, and a sit down cuisine on the other side. There are so many combinations on the menu which I wanna try. I ordered 2 combo and the famous filipino roast pork to go for me and my wife. After 1 hrs of traffic and got home. The food is still crazy hot. But I was worried about the crunchy roast pork got soggy after trapping in a plastic bag for one hour. Surprisingly, roast pork still very crunchy with many flavour left in my mouth. I order the #35 chicken and #37 shrimp fried rice combo. The meal set is big. We need to finish it in 2 days. The garlic rice in the combo is amazingly good, every rice with a lot flavour which bring out the essence of garlic. I personally like it. You need to try to see what I meant. My next visit will...
Read moreI went to this place because it's closer to home then my usual place. I thought to order the standard two orders of Longsilog and added an order of Chicken fried rice... I took it home and ate some and realized a couple of things.
I ended up with sunny side up eggs instead of scrambled (to be honest that standard with most breakfasts) so I shrugged and said hey no big deal. It would have nice if she confirmed how I wanted my eggs but that's okay.
The biggest thing I had an issue with was the rice... I love Filipino garlic rice (I suck at making it) but this rice was mushy, and had no flavor. I thought "okay maybe it's just this dish let me try the fried rice" and man was that a bad idea. It ended up tasting worse, then the plain. All I tasted was soy and the chicken tasted old.
The Longonesa didn't have any flavor either.
Tbh I dunno how they prep their food but they need to step their game up. I spent over $30 there and this is the first place that I've ever felt like I really wasted my money. I am not going to that...
