If you're into background context and long reviews, here's one for you. If not, there's a TL;DR at the bottom. I've been going to this restaurant since 2015 and it's honestly one of my favorite Biryani places. The price for quantity was incredible. After COVID, it increased but that's understandable. Our go to was either the Mutton or Chicken Special Biryani. The Biryani was always consistently good and so was the chicken 65 that came with it. There was always a good amount of meat in it (about 3 to 5 pieces of chicken or 7 to 8 mutton). Now onto the main point. I saw on Uber Eats that they have buy 1 get 1 free and it was exciting since I could get the same quality of food, get twice as much and save a little money than ordering from the restaurant (or that's what I thought). I ordered 4 Chicken Biryanis (for the price of 2), 2 Butter Chickens (for the price of 1). Mind you, the prices listed in Uber is $2 more than the original menu price and I've also had this food for years so I know what to expect and how the food should be ideally. The Biryani rice had a decent amount but there was only 1 small piece of chicken in 2 of the boxes. The other 2 boxes had 2 small pieces of chicken each. The rice was dry and didn't seem like the spices mixed into the rice at all. So what I got was 4 whole boxes of plain rice with a small piece of chicken on each. The size of the butter chicken bowl was half of its regular size with exactly 6 small minced pieces of chicken. So I got 2 for the price of 1 but I basically got the same amount of 1 regularly priced butter chicken. When I saw this, I got so disheartened and decided to call the restaurant about my order and they told me to come back and pick up some more chicken. I drove 20 minutes back to pick up the extra chicken to which the person in front said, "since you ordered through Uber, it is slightly different than ordering from the restaurant. If you had ordered through the restaurant then you would get the raita, curry sauce and 2 or 3 big pieces of chicken. But it's okay, here are some extra pieces of chicken." So, he basically admitted to giving me less pieces of chicken, not giving the raita and the curry sauce all because I took the buy 1 get 1 free offer through Uber but assumed an apology from me and graciously gave me some more chicken. Message to Pariwar: if you don't want to participate in the buy 1 get 1 free offer with Uber Eats, then don't. But don't scam people with less food, less quality and less meat just to make up for that offer. Here are the pictures of the food chicken sizes (picture 1), butter chicken (picture and video). Picture 1 is the size of the 2 pieces of chicken they graciously gave me and the 1 below it is the small piece that was found in the original box of Biryani. TL;DR: If you're ordering through Uber Eats, expect a lesser portion, lesser quality and less meat for your order.

Probably the worst dine-in experience in Scarborough so far. We made a bad decision of visiting this place today to celebrate our friend's birthday party. The food was so bad that we didn't bother about ordering any more stuff from them. What we ordered and my honest review of it? 1. Pariwar Special Chicken Biryani - Felt like rice tossed with turmeric and little spices only. It came with 3 pieces of badly seasoned chicken that was cooked separately and later assembled with rice, 4-5 pieces of chicken 65 and boiled egg. Biryani was too dry and don't get me started on the raita that came on its side which was totally disgraceful as it was runnier than buttermilk. 2. Chicken Tikka - 8 pieces on a plate for 11.99 of pricing and that too way overcooked and felt like chewing balls made of mud. I hadn't in my life had the worst food than this. 3. Chicken Manchurian - The chicken was too soggy and no taste at all and the looks of it was not appealing whatsoever. 4. Hyderabadi Chicken - 5 or 6 pieces of chicken drenched in a pool of green gravy, seriously? I would have considered the portion size but the taste, oh lord. 5. Garlic Naan - I doubt if it was made fresh as it was smelling. Think before visiting or ordering food from this place. The owner needs to taste the food and start considering if s/he should still be serving this kind of food or make some significant improvements. I won't be returning to this place ever.

From five star this place became zero for me. I am sorry to give bad review for this place was one of my favorites. Their Haleem used to be amazing. I think 'Pariwar Restaurant' had management change, or may be they're struggling post-Covid. It used to be a clean place. After Last week's experience, I would never even order takeout, forget about dine in. We stopped here on Sunday after 4pm. The food menu was of no use. They didn't have any appetizers/snacks, tea, or desserts except gulanb jamunl!!! We were not in the mood of having dinner at that time. As we were already seated, ordered the available item- Biryani. Food taste, quantity - ok. But plates were sticky and chipped, plastic cutlery &glasses were provided for dine in!! Had to request twice to change the chipped plates. But the disappointing this was -the servers fingers were touching the plates inside which wasn't a hygienic way as she was taking cash payments , again coming back to us without sanitizing/cleaning hands. Obviously, she didn't have basic 'Safe Food Handling' training. I felt sorry for the only server- She seemed to be working unwillingly. However, The last nail to my hope was- Her fingers dipped into the biriyani bowl while she brought it to our table 🤢🤢🤢. Thank you Pariwar, finally I know how foods are handled here. Good bye, you lost my business.

I hardly end up writing reviews but Parivar deserves it! I feel this is the most underrated Indian restaurant in North America. My friends and I travel literally every week from Burlington, Ontario to Scarborough just to dine in at Parivar and been doing this since 3 yrs. and still can’t get enough of it 😉 haha

The food is Authentic Indian/Hyderabadi with great quality, good portion size and very reasonable pricing! The Chicken Dum Biryani is just delicious. Chicken 65 is as we eat back home, and the Naan is super soft. I'd say everything is just top notch! One of my friend is a vegetarian and eats only Veg biryani. The owner is so cool that she makes sure to make one incase they run out of it on a busy weekend! But now a days we just make sure to order for veg biryani in afternoon or before we get there!! The non veg/other dishes are always available though!

A BIG SHOUT-OUT to the team for not comprising on the taste. 😊 Lot of restaurants they look grand but taste sucks (Parivar is relatively smaller restaurant but who cares as long as they don’t compromise on taste!!). Some restaurants once they start doing well, they go down in the taste but not the case with Parivar Its been the same from 3 yrs. (Don’t want to Jinx it though!! 😉) . Also, I wonder what’s up with some of these negative reviews, seems like a competitor trying to bring them down. Not fair at all!

The only pain point for us is the travel, we drive literally every week from Burlington to Scarborough for more than an hour. I wish they had another branch in Oakville or in Mississauga at least, it would have been easy commute for us. Overall, I'd say, I am a Big fan and definitely 5 stars from me!! Hands down!Try it to believe it guys, You...

Dad wanted khichuri, so I called ahead and ordered khichuri rice and masala mutton for pickup from fairly far away. Upon bringing it home, the khichuri barely had any lental/daal and the masala mutton was full of oil and there was barely any meat. The big pieces that seemed like meat was indeed bones, which was very disappointing especially since my dad was very hungry and we had to throw out majority of the curry as it was not consumable. I called back the restaurant and explained my concern, the host was unsure as to what to do so she passed the phone to the chef and I tried explaining the situation but he took it as I'm attacking his cooking, mind you I have also mentioned how the food tasted good but when I said there's no daal/lental on the rice and it's just yellow without much of the khichuri flavor, he asked me what country I was from (idk why he would ask that), when I said my origin, he giggled which felt very insulting and the mutton concern I had was disregarded by him.

I am a regular customer at the other location so I went to this one after seeing the reviews, and I went thinking I will have the excellent service like the other location, but instead I was very disappointed with the way the whole situation was handled because if you invite me again after sounding insulting, I am not gonna go back.

I am leaving a 2 star rating because it would be unfair if I said the food was bad, it wasn't bad and the host was nice, the rest of the experience is something I do not wish...
