Good ice cream with a fair amount of flavour selections. ATROCIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE OWNER! Immediately alerted to this when she shouted at a child in line & a child sitting at a nearby table. At this point, how do we leave an ice cream shop without buying ice cream when we have a three & a half year old with us? When we handed my granddaughter her cup of ice cream to hold, she barked at her to go sit down with it. Literally, a stern YOU GO SIT DOWN. I was shocked. I wanted to let her know how unpleasant she was being but didn’t want to ruin the afternoon treat for my granddaughter. No hand-washing between orders or glove use (handling money in between). The napkin on my waffle cone wasn’t a barrier as she handled it with both hands when the wrong ice cream was scooped into it & then spooned out. She gave me one napkin wrapped around that cone & none for the two cups of ice cream in our order. Then, when I asked for another napkin, she glared at me & proceeded to bypass the napkin pile & go to the paper-towel dispenser to tear me off the tiniest square of that rough, non-absorbent brown paper towel. I just spent $20 on three ice creams & I can’t even have one napkin per person?? She was also blatantly snarky to & bossing around her employee repeatedly. Horrible behaviour by this woman! I asked her if she was the owner & she said yes. I’m blunt & very much wanted to let her know how discourteous & impolite she was acting but again chose not to due to my grandbaby’s presence. Owner added that she was short staffed that day & it ended up being busy. Therefore I knew she understood why I asked if she was the owner. Clearly the owner knew she was being awful but just didn’t care. Well, no doubt she’s short staffed; I’m sure no one wants to work for this rude & cranky lady. Spare yourself a bad experience & buy your ice...
Read moreI'm giving this place a 1 star because of the terrible customer service. While I was waiting in line, I watched the server blame the woman she was serving in front of us for the long line that was happening because she ordered a milkshake. Then when it was my turn, she told me and my boyfriend to wait because SHE needed to finish up some orders. So we were waiting. Then my boyfriend was taking some pictures so he could post on social media because they had some nice designs and of course we wanted to support small businesses and tell our friends to check it out. As he was doing this, the server started to get mad and told us we were too busy taking pictures and there is a line happening. I had to remind her that she told us she couldn't take our orders because she needed to work on something else and that we've been waiting to order for over 15-20 minutes (since we arrived to the store up until ordering) and already know what we want wanted. She never apologized and instead challenged me by saying what do you want then. I really wanted to walk away at this point but we ordered and then left. Her attitude was not pleasant nor warranted. I searched other ice cream places in the area and found another great spot called woofles and cream. It's not entirely close but their customer service is always amazing and their product...
Read moreSo we are new to Toronto as of last summer and we decided to make a tour of some ice cream shops over the summer weekends. We came across Inside Scoop. I was very optimistic because it seemed right up our ally as it seemed like a simple, classic ice cream shop. Unfortunately I didnt get to verify. At this time due to pandemic staffing and business levels is was nice to see a very pleasant woman behind the counter that presented great attitude and a helpful approach. There were lines on the floor and sanitizer on the counter. The problem came when she was scooping my ice cream that she had no gloves on or napkin or wrap on the cone. I decided that her hands were clean as she actually made a point to say that she can't hand me the cone due to distancing policy. I was satisfied with her procedure. Once she finished scooping my wife's cone, who was outside, she started mine, then her cell phone rang. She picked it up, put it between her head and shoulder then proceeded to talk while bending over the tub of ice cream to finish scooping. At that point I had to stop her and inform her of the problem. Regardless of pandemic posture I would not have accepted a cell phone in the hands of someone preparing my food. It seemed like a great place though. I left...
