  • This fine establishment only has minimal counter top seating. It also does not have a washroom. However, if you need a washroom, you can use the salon's washroom, located next door (must be same owner?). There is a sink in the establishment, to wash your hands.

They have off menu items which are only available Thursday (or Friday) - Sunday (best to call in advance and double check).

The establishment is run by a Vietnamese family. I believe the son operates the front of house. I heard him speak in Vietnamese to the kitchen (good signs).

Ordered: #103: Fresh rolls with grilled chicken $5: Solid roll with very thin wrapper and loads of fresh vegetables. The accompanying sauce is the typical peanut sauce.

#501 Vietnamese Baguette with Grilled Pork $5.99: Get any of the Banh Mi's and you won't be disappointed. The baguette has a crisp exterior, yet a soft interior. The pork was seasoned very well. I wish they would put more fresh vegetables in, such as the cucumbers and cilantro - as these are in the normal cold cut banh mi's

#200 Vietnoms Special Rice Noodle soup $10.75 (Large): One of the signs of a quality pho broth, for me, is the clarity of the broth. The pho broth here is quite clear. It is also very flavourful. I could taste many fragrant herbs, spices, in addition to the bone broth.

The noodles, appear to be fresh noodles, however, I have to confirm this.

Unfortunately, where it lacks is the quantity of meats. Given the picture on their website of the same item, we expected the same quantity.

#403 Hue Style Beef soup with Vermicelli $10.50: Given we did not come on a day when they offered their off-menu specials, I went with the recommendation from the owner.

This soup uses the same pho broth as the base and then it is loaded with lemongrass, some fermented shrimp paste (made in house) and other goodies. Note that this is a bit spicy (I find Sriracha spicy :P) - some chili oil or something floating on the top. With the abundance of lemongrass the soup is so pleasantly aromatic. It isn't overly salty as they also provide a side dish of fermented shrimp paste to add to the broth (DIY).

It comes with a bunch of proteins, including beef brisket and their homemade pork patty which is delicious. My mom took my broth home and used it twice.

Overall: If they just gave a bit more quantity,...

I am always willing to try new places when it comes to pho, and Cantonese chowmein. There is a few pho places on my list but since I drive past this place every day I decided to check it out.

The place is advertised as Vietnamese street food, I have no idea what the streets of vietnam sell but I can tell you that this place has pretty much the same menu as any other pho place I’ve been to. The only thing that makes it “street” is that there is no tables. There is two benches and a bunch of high chairs/stools where people sit side by side… inside the tiny venue of the restaurant.

The cashier serves as the waitress as well, and for the 30 or so minutes I was eating I saw her mess up almost very order except mine lol I got lucky i guess.

The benches had one large container with chopsticks, sauces, spoons, etc… which was annoying becsuse i was sitting next to it and the couple next to me kept on coming over to grab more napkins etc… it was lacking in privacy and that is why I am guessing this place labeled itself as “street food” instead of buying a couple tables.

The soup was served on a stainless steel bowl. Not gonna lie, when I was in China it was common for the workers at the factories I visited to get their food served on stainless steel bowls and cutlery but in Canada I felt like I was eating from a pet’s bowl. I prefer normal plates and bowls and specially the ceramic spoons for soup.

The soup itself was meh and meh can be. I ordered the special soup with everything. Worth mentioning is that their special contains chicken which was a first for me; whereas all other pho places the special tends to be rare beef, beef balls, tripe and tendon or something along those lines. Chicken in the special wasn’t good for me. The noodles and the soup were meh, the broth didn’t taste fresh or had much taste at all actually.

Normally when I go to a pho place if I like the soup I don’t even put any condiments but in this case I was grateful for the spicy sauce there on the communal spice rack next to the chopsticks and spoons.

I wouldn’t recommend this place BUT there is a chance that I will try it again for the...

ATMOSPHERE 5/5 VERY CLEAN, WELL LIT & A MORE MODERN DESIGN W.COUNTER TOP SEATING (AS OPPISED TO ABUNCH OF TABLESCRAMMEDINTO A SMALL SPACE). THEY SERVE AMAZING & AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE CUISINE, COOKED W.LOVE! ITS A FAMILY RUNNED BUSINESS THATS OPENED FOR ABOUT HALF A YEAR. BUSINESS WILL DEFINITELY PICK UP OVER TIME, FOOD HERE IS DEEEELICIOUS!!

OVER ALL FOOD 5/5

WE GOT 2 BANH MI [MARINATED SLICED PORK/THIT NUONG & VIETNAMESE GRILLED PORK SAUSAGE/NEM NUONG]. IT COMES W.THE TRADITIONAL PICKLED CARROTS & DAIKON, MAYO, CUCUMBERS & YOU CAN ADD PATE OR CHEESE FOR $1 EACH. NICELY TOASTED & GENEROUS PORTIONS.

MY BUDDY ORDERED A BOWL OF PHO DAC BIET (#200, LARGE) WHICH IS THE VIETNOMS HOUSE SPECIALTY. COMES W.SLICED BEEF, BEEF BALLS, FLANK BRISKET & CHICKEN BREAST! THE BROTH WAS PHENOMENAL! NOT TOO SALTY OR SWEET.

I ORDERED VERMICELLI NOODLE BOWL W.VIETNAMESE GRILLED PORK SAUSAGE & A SPRING ROLL (BUN NEM NUONG, CHA GIO). THEY USE THINNER VERMICELLI NOODLES (COMPARABLE TO ANGEL HAIR PASTA) NOT THE BIG THICK NOODLES (LIKE SPAGHETTI). THE GRILLED PORK WAS NICELY SEASONED, SLIGHTLY DRY & GRITTY, BUT PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY USE A SLIGHTLY MORE LEAN GROUND PORK MIX. I LIKE TO USE A FATTIER ONE WHEN WE MAKE IT AT HOME.

WE GOT A SIDE OF SPRING ROLLS. THE FILLING WAS MADE WITH CHICKEN, SHRIMP, BLACK FUNGUS MUSHROOMS, CARROTS, TARO & BEAN THREAD NOODLES. MADE FRESH TO ORDER SO ITS ALWAYS HOT AND CRISPY!

I ALSO GOT A VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE [CA PHE SUA DA]. ITS NOT AS STRONG AS I HAD EXPECTED THE TYPICAL VIETNAMESE COFFEE TO BE, BUT ITS OK BECAUSE IM TOO HIGH ENERGY ANYWAYS HAHA ID BE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS!

WE HAD A GREAT LATE LUNCH HERE! DEFINITELY COMING BACK TO TRY THE REST OF THEIR MENU!

THEY HAVE BUN RIEU!!!! VIETNAMESE CRAB/SHRIMP SOUP W.TOMATOES & TOFU!! TYPICALLY SERVED W.VERMICELI NOODLES & FERMENTED...
