ZEAL Burgers — Restaurant in Toronto

I have eaten here a few times in person and always enjoyed the food but this time I got my mother to try ordering here from Skipthedishes. A blue cheese z and the heat burgers. The food was still made very well but the ONLY problem as that the burgers were placed in the wrong wrappers! It was such a shame because everything was great quality and the staff even wrote "Enjoy your order!" with my mother's name and a smiley face. If the situation was different we would not have cared about the very small mistake and just swapped burgers, but I just so happen to be going through COVID right now, so not only do I not eat blue cheese, but I couldn't give it to my mother after handling it from being in isolation. Conversely, she can't eat spicy but didn't even know any better that it wasn't the intended blue cheese burger while trying to get through it.

Like I said everything was made so well anf this one little mistake right at the end sort of messed all that up, and it was a huge shame to see. Even if they had put no labels would have been better because then we could check ourselves, but we just went with what the labels said and so my mother left the blue cheese one at my door instead because it said Heat.

I still have lots of faith in this place and would recommend it to anyone! But my advice to anyone going forward is to just double check your burgers if they are labelled because you never know when they might make that tiny mistake like this again. My request for staff is to please just double check that you are writing the correct labels so this doesn't happen to future customers! I still leave 5 stars because they honestly make good food and are super friendly, that's why it is such a shame that this happened. We only finally got through to get our refund in Skip credits after over an hour with customer support.

Any burger you get from this place is great. Make sure you add the z sauce to make it even better. You can craft your own masterpiece or try one of the specialty burgers on the menu. For you cheese lovers, the smoked cheddar is very nice on your burger.

Zeal's also makes a chicken sandwich which is also delicious. If you don't see it on the menu, maker sure to ask for it. It's a chicken breast, lightly battered and fried to lovely shade of gold. Add your own toppings to customize to your taste, just don't forget the z sauce.

The fries are freshly cut and are great in a poutine! Do yourself a favour and get some z sauce on the side for the fries. If you're feeling REALLY hungry, get the chef special poutine. It's your regular poutine with fried onion strings and a single patty chopped up into bite size pieces with...wait for it...z sauce on top.

Z Burger: for some reason, I thought this was NOT earth-shattering. Everyone else is so impressed. Either Canadians have low standards for burgers or my burger didn't have the Z sauce (in which case, shame on them for messing up the crowd-pleasing ingredient on one of their few signatures). The burger was good, but I've had much better all over America.

Oreo milkshake: this was just okay. I wasn't blown away. I would rather get an Oreo Blizzard from Dairy Queen or something.

Greek fries: do not get these for children because they don't smell that great. The flavor was pretty good in small doses, but the smell killed me. Moreover, I like my fries crispy and these were very floppy. They look like they've been soaking in the oil for hours before I wanted them. But the fries are pretty good for sharing.

I would rate them lower but I think somehow my experience was an anomaly. All the other reviewers...
