Johnny's Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Athabasca

Renovated perfectly, probably one of the nicest places of business in Athabasca. Atmosphere is really comfortable and friendly. The staff are awesome and the food from their Red Seal trained chef is delicious!

We weren't super hungry so we opted for some appetizers to share. We ordered poutine that had excellent fresh-cut fries. The wings were nice and crispy (and flavor splitting wasn't a problem). But the best was the short rib yorkies - an unusual option for an appy! I'm a fan of yorkshire pudding and they were cooked to perfection, topped with tender beef and tasty gravy. It turned out to be a lot more food than we expected but was so delicious that we cleaned the plates! Even were tempted to share the chocolate brownie for dessert.

Wish I had taken pics to post. For sure next time as we plan to go back to try the amazing looking burgers and gourmet...

We stopped by fluke bc the pics on Google maps looked good and it did not disappoint. There are fun games you can take to the table for the kids (that actually have all the pieces) like I spy, tic tac toe etc. Service was great, friendly and fast. Food was DELICIOUS, honestly the best burger and fries I had in ages. I wish I took a pic. Fries are hand cut and seasoning was addictive. Burger was homemade and juicy. Fresh lettuce and tomato with sauteed onions. The lettuce wrap my daughter had on special was great. Good amount of chicken and not too much sauce. And my youngest had the kids chicken strips which was a good portion for kids. Overall great experience, atmosphere is bright and clean. We are already talking about making the hour and 20 mins again on a day trip just to come back. Would eat here...

I will definitely return again . After having my own restaurant n working in that environment for a lot of years some people say I can be a good critic .lol I’m not a big lover of burgers but decided to try one this evening n had johnnys burger n it was one of the best I have ever had . Also had the calamari to start .. well that was also a wise choice . One of the best I ever had . N plenty to a serving . The server was only on her second day serving tables n what a beautiful job she done I could tell she was nervous but my love there is no need to be nervous .. u have a beautiful smile n beautiful personality n that goes along way !
