The good and the not so good concerning North Mountain Coffee. This used to be my go to Coffee shop in the Berwick area but lately I rarely go there and other people have told me the same. So the good aspects of North Mountain are both the drip Coffee and their bulk Coffee Beans they have for sale. The not so good is that as of late they canāt make a decent hot Latte to save their lives. Iāve been so disappointed on multiple occasions to get back out to my vehicle looking forward to a nice hot morning Latte, but instead taste a lukewarm at best syrupy concoction that is completely unappetizing as far as a Latte is concerned. I have even gone so far as to take the cup back inside and tell them itās basically cold only to be made a slightly warmer version. As Lattes are usually why I go somewhere for coffee Iāve pretty much dropped NMC for this reason. I realize this may sound harsh but Iāve given them many chances to get Lattes right on the chance different Baristas will make a difference but it doesnāt seem to matter. It really seemed to make a difference when they downsized the place during Covid, before that every Coffee experience there was great afterwards unfortunately...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUSED TO BE the great little coffee place that Berwick needed. Since Covid however the business model has changed drastically. The renovation is great, the layout is better as far as ordering and receiving, but no indoor seating? and no cakes or cookies to go with the coffee? I get that they sell in bulk and small bags of coffee but its a coffee shop. Its supposed to be a social place where people can gather and talk. It is none of that now. Staff has changed completely. No Sundays? Really, that's a poor decision. I'm from Berwick and nothing pleased me more than going to North Mountain Coffee on a Sunday morning and seeing some familiar faces and chatting. I completely understand that seating has to be limited during this time, but having spoken to employees and possibly the owner there is no plan to replace the indoor seating. The coffee is fantastic, I cant say a bad word about that, but the atmosphere is completely changed. I am not a review writing person typically. But these changes to an otherwise flourishing and cherished part of Berwick are poor at best. Hopefully these reviews are read, and taken into consideration. Thank you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt onetime, I gave North Mountain coffee 5 stars for a rating. That was in a time when you could sit down and enjoy your coffee and a "treat" and have a chat with a friend. That is now gone. You can sit outside at a table and that's fine in the summer... not winter fall and spring. Coffee shops are meeting places, and small towns like Berwick, need those meeting places. Berwick has a Tim Horton's. You can go there and sit down have a coffee, a treat and have that conversation. The coffee is not as good, but sometimes those conversations with friends and family are more important! I would argue that what made North Mountain Fine coffee popular was its close attachment to Berwick and its' customers. Now not so much. Now to the coffee. I ordered a cappuccino. It had that "burnt coffee" taste that tells you it was made improperly or the wrong beans were used. At any rate, ultimately, if the coffee is not good then North Mountain Fine coffee should take the word "fine" out...
