Went in for a late night meal with my gf. Was gonna order the smashed guac but got advised of unripe avacados by our server Michelle. Ordered the Enchilada fries as our appy instead. They were good but seemed to be missing the House salsa, & way too much Lime Crema. For our mains ordered the Cabeza burger and the chicken torta. Did not get asked if we preferred crispy chicken or pulled chicken(she put it in as pulled). Seemed to be a struggle to get sufficient refills of water(water served in kids size plastic cups 80% ice) so I told the server to keep the water jug on our table. Once our mains came out, Michelle asked if I would like a refill of pepsi and I said sure. A couple mins later she rang it in for the bar tender who by this point was super busy talking to whom I do believe is one of the owners brother who was eating wings at the bar. The bar tender heard my refil print up but did not pour it. 15 minutes went by of talking to him and she finally decided to pour it, but failed to communicate to Michelle who seemed to forget all about the fact that I wanted a refil. After sitting on the bar for 7-10 additional minutes, Michelle finally saw it and decided to bring it to me. At this point I was completely done my meal so I just told her I didnt want it. No communication between the two, one right out in left field, the other too distracted with the owners brother. Very pitiful service At least the fries were good.

Side notes- the Cabeza burger was quite small, kinda dry and no seasoning. No where near enough queso sauce on it(like they did back in the summer).

I dont know what has changed about this place since summer 2021, but its level of food quality and customer service has gone down hill dramatically. Back in the summer I would go there weekly and enjoyed the food and service. In the absence of the manager, I even saw from time to time the Chef come out and address concerns with customers. The food was always quality! Now it barely deserves 3 stars. I only rated it 3 because...

If I could give a zero I would, something has definitely changed about this restaurant and I strongly believe the kitchen staff are the problem because the few times I have placed an order for pickup the service staff are delightful. I used to order nachos from here quite often but the last 4 times have been deeply disappointing. I order my nachos with chicken, no jalapeƱos, peppers and onions and the last 4 times I have ordered (I had thought this would be a one time mistake and kept giving them a chance) the last 4 times I have ordered I did not get any meat on my nachos which I pay for each time (adding meat is almost $5) all 4 of these times no meat and since there are so little toppings because the things I take off, I was unable to eat them every one of those times because there was literally almost nothing on them. They put barely any cheese little to no beans, might aswell have been plain chips. Then the last time (4th time) I gave it one last go this was last night, again with the no meat WHEN I PAID FOR MEAT!! And this time they had also put jalapeƱos when I asked for none. Every one of these 4 times I have spent $30 that has gone to waste, that’s $120 wasted!!! And SkipTheDishes customer support was only able to give me a $10 refund never a full so $80 of my money just down the drain. I am very disappointed at the turn this restaurant has taken. I recommend anyone who wants to eat tacos, burritos, nachos, etc, GO ANYWHERE ELSE THAT IS NOT HERE unless you like being ripped off and wasting money. I will never be ordering from this place again and I suggest no one else does either. This is the worst restaurant I have ever encountered when it used to be one of my favourites. I hope this review helps someone not to make the same mistake. 0/10 if possible my rating would be in...

While the service was friendly and the patio was nice, my issue is with the food. Personally, I find some of the menu items to be a tad strange for a Mexican restaurant, but as another reviewer mentioned, I guess it should be called ā€œAlberta-Mex.ā€ Either way, Albertans deserve food with seasoning…

Here are my food reviews: Tortilla soup - something is off; the soup had an unpleasant mealy texture that usually happens from undercooked or refrigerated tomatoes. Flavour was so-so. Al Pastor tacos - while they say this is roasted pork, the kitchen is not serving it that way. There is zero doubt that this meat was sitting in ā€œjuiceā€ and came out with the texture of stew meat; it was squishy and soggy. Flavour was pretty bland. Durango steak tacos - same complaint about the meat texture, it had been braised (whether intentionally or not) and the meat lacked even a hint of searing. The beans, peppers and onions lacked all seasonings. In fact, the only flavour on this one was the Valentina. We didn’t finish these. Margaritas and side dishes weren’t nearly as underwhelming as the mains and soup, but ā€œmehā€ would be my descriptor.

If the restaurant reads this, I’d shore up on your kitchen practices. Season every ingredient, store your roast and seared meats properly after cooking and prior to serving (no one wants soggy meat!) You’ve got a decent base but the attention to details are...

Came here with some visiting family to show them our go to taco place. I’m so sad. The chips and salsa was the worst excuse for salsa I’ve ever seen. The salsa comes in a container for ketchup and about the same size ($8 is way over priced) The breakfast burrito was completely void of flavor, no salsa, no cilantro. Just eggs cheese tater-tots and some beans. The Huevos rancheros we’re decent but as with the rest of this recurring theme, were incredibly small. A third would have been appropriate for the price point. Coffee was severed well but the milk was served with a long shot glass. So naturally the milk runs down the glass and causes a mess. No stir sticks to stir your coffee either. The overall feeling is, how much can they cut, without people getting upset. I loved this place during the summer for tacos and drinks but it feels like something has changed (not in a good way) maybe it’s new ownership, new chef or a combination of the lot. Our server Lauren was very kind and a sweet girl. This is a management issue that feels cheap. I’ll give this place another chance in a few months but as of now I’m just so disappointed at what used to be one of my most favorite places.

reviewed for our community paper, The Cochrane Post: rating: ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… First impression: very welcoming, comfortable, nice vibe, super friendly staff. You’ll have a good experience here because the food is good, fresh with quality ingredients and fair prices but it’s the staff that make it a great place and a memorable experience. My stylist frequently orders from this restaurant and says the fish tacos are the best in town. I ordered a bean burrito, coleslaw, rice, of course an order of guacamole and chips and key lime pie. So good. What I like most about this restaurant is the friendly vibe that you feel as soon as you walk in. It’s a nice open space with a bar, high top tables, regular tables and also a small patio. Good space for large groups. The staff are outstanding – really great staff. Very welcoming, helpful and nice, comfortable, fun feeling like you’re visiting friends. Large portions, really it’s enough for 2 meals or more, and the ingredients were fresh and flavourful. The Key Lime pie is brought in but it’s really good, light and not too heavy though it’s more like cheesecake than traditional key lime.
