A Hidden Gem in Kentville!
We had such a wonderful experience at Half Acre Café this place truly exceeded expectations in every way. The service was fast, friendly, and warm, and the café was spotless, with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
The Tomato Basil Soup was absolutely to die for rich, flavorful, and comforting. I also tried the Sweet Potato Sandwich for the first time and was blown away a must-try, especially for vegetarians! The Veggie Wrap was equally delicious and fresh.
Their cold coffee is a specialty and definitely lived up to the hype refreshing and bold. We finished our meal with some of their freshly baked goods including a macaroon, gluten-free brownie, and energy ball. Each treat was generously portioned and packed with flavor we savored every bite.
The owners are lovely respectful, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food and service. You can tell they care deeply about quality and their customers’ experience.
Highly recommended if you’re in the area — clean, delicious, and run by great people. Can’t wait...
Read moreBy far the worst sandwich I’ve paid money for - ever.
I ordered the Chicken Avocado Panini which was $15 plus tax. I expected somewhat of decent bread but I got a cold sandwich on no name/wonder bread with dry chicken (which was inedible) and randomly placed chunks of avocado - not mashed - just huge cubes. My partner got the ham and cheese sandwich (also $15 I believe) which was just randomly placed cubes of cold yucky ham (not even sliced??) - also on wonder bread. With 2 drinks, we nearly paid $45. One look at what we got and we knew it was going to be bad. Based on simple math, we could have made this at home for less than $5 each.
We didn’t complain because of reasons I won’t get into here, but there’s zero chance I’ll ever be back. I could have spent less than half the amount at Tim Hortons and had a much better sandwich that was fresh.
I wish I had taken a photo because the ones posted here by the restaurant aren’t even close...
Read moreThe food is always fresh and looks great. There are a lot of pictures and a large community bulletin board to look at, as well as clocks with the time in various parts of the world. Unfortunately, I was there just after 3 p.m. today,, so was unable to buy a lunch item, but I was very happy with my raspberry white hot chocolate and my cinnamon bun. I have a vice for cinnamon rolls and this one was very good - bread-like with a nice icing. It had enough cinnamon to be a cinnamon bun, but I like double that amount - with some goo, if possible. I would certainly buy one again. I hadn't been there in a while and noticed that on Tuesday you can get a free cookie or cookie (stamp)and today there were free bananas, but I forgot to take one. I think it is definitely a nice addition to have a piece of fresh fruit available, especially if you're meeting up with someone who is off of...
