The coffee was okay but at Starbucks prices. The food was weary from sitting in the display cabinet, and dry. We were hungry enough for a sandwich, but the cost of those compared to the lackluster description of them didn't add up, and we chose something less expensive. The inside of the café is clean and tidy, although dispirited and shopworn. The atmosphere encourages clients to move along and not get too comfortable. There was a tiring thrumming noise from what sounded like a huge air duct for a subterranean bomb shelter. It must be awful to have to work with that background noise. When you go to pay the substantial bill, be aware that you'll be paying a minimum 15% tip (there is no 0 option) for you standing in line and collecting your own order. I won't be going back, but if you're out of options, it's okay.

I recently tried the pizza and was genuinely impressed. The flavors were well-balanced, the toppings were fresh, and the cheese was perfectly melted. But the real game-changer? The sesame crust. It added a subtle crunch and a nutty flavor that elevated the whole experience. I’ve tried many pizzas before, but this crust was something special—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and that hint of sesame made every bite more enjoyable. Highly recommend it if you're looking to try something a little different and delicious!

Ordered a cappuccino and was not impressed in the least. There were two ladys that waited on us, one was kind and polite, cared about what she was doing. The one that made my cappuccino was a polar opposite... no smile and a here you go attitude... it's not often I come and treat myself to anything but a Tim's coffee but today I brought my fiancee into this cafe and totally bragged it up just to have the froth dumped in and cup pushed at me... not impressed

A Hidden Gem in Kentville!

We had such a wonderful experience at Half Acre Café this place truly exceeded expectations in every way. The service was fast, friendly, and warm, and the café was spotless, with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

The Tomato Basil Soup was absolutely to die for rich, flavorful, and comforting. I also tried the Sweet Potato Sandwich for the first time and was blown away a must-try, especially for vegetarians! The Veggie Wrap was equally delicious and fresh.

Their cold coffee is a specialty and definitely lived up to the hype refreshing and bold. We finished our meal with some of their freshly baked goods including a macaroon, gluten-free brownie, and energy ball. Each treat was generously portioned and packed with flavor we savored every bite.

The owners are lovely respectful, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food and service. You can tell they care deeply about quality and their customers’ experience.

Highly recommended if you’re in the area — clean, delicious, and run by great people. Can’t wait...

By far the worst sandwich I’ve paid money for - ever.

I ordered the Chicken Avocado Panini which was $15 plus tax. I expected somewhat of decent bread but I got a cold sandwich on no name/wonder bread with dry chicken (which was inedible) and randomly placed chunks of avocado - not mashed - just huge cubes. My partner got the ham and cheese sandwich (also $15 I believe) which was just randomly placed cubes of cold yucky ham (not even sliced??) - also on wonder bread. With 2 drinks, we nearly paid $45. One look at what we got and we knew it was going to be bad. Based on simple math, we could have made this at home for less than $5 each.

We didn’t complain because of reasons I won’t get into here, but there’s zero chance I’ll ever be back. I could have spent less than half the amount at Tim Hortons and had a much better sandwich that was fresh.

I wish I had taken a photo because the ones posted here by the restaurant aren’t even close...

The food is always fresh and looks great. There are a lot of pictures and a large community bulletin board to look at, as well as clocks with the time in various parts of the world. Unfortunately, I was there just after 3 p.m. today,, so was unable to buy a lunch item, but I was very happy with my raspberry white hot chocolate and my cinnamon bun. I have a vice for cinnamon rolls and this one was very good - bread-like with a nice icing. It had enough cinnamon to be a cinnamon bun, but I like double that amount - with some goo, if possible. I would certainly buy one again. I hadn't been there in a while and noticed that on Tuesday you can get a free cookie or cookie (stamp)and today there were free bananas, but I forgot to take one. I think it is definitely a nice addition to have a piece of fresh fruit available, especially if you're meeting up with someone who is off of...
