Dayan Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Kentville

Wow! Not hard to tell why this place has such good reviews. Once I got in the door I was promptly greeting by a very happy and friendly man who quickly got my order together very quickly while making sure I had everything needed The ingredients were very fresh, and the portion sizes are excellent! I have never had a Miso soup like theirs, normally you get two or three tiny 1cm square pieces of tofu, and a few strips of seaweed, but this was loaded with both and plenty of mushrooms as well! This gave it a much more full umami flavor and was amazing! I also had their dragon roll which had everything very well balanced, even the sauces on top. Each bite was a delight. I'm used to sushi having a notable rice vinegar undertone,.but this has a much more neutral flavour allowing you to truly appreciate and savour everything else

Amazing. First time I've been able to stop in at Dayan and am impressed so much with this place. I wish they had seating, as I had to drive home, thinking about eating it all the way. However, it surely did not disappoint once I tucked into the dishes I bought. I got the Tokyo Combo and a Spicy Salmon. The salmon is so fresh, and just perfect. The spicy sauce is well balanced and allows the flavours of rest of the roll still come through. 100% will be back for more sushi / rolls from Dayan in Kentville. Well...

Unigi rolls were great. But for terriyaki rolls I expected the chicken to be cooked with teriyaki souce. It was a pieces of chicken breast with a bit of teriyaki souce on the top. Also terriyaki rolls only had cucumber inside as vegetables thus didn't give much favor. Its definitely not the best sushi I had; but I do think that the owner is nice. I do think it would be better if chickens are cooked with teriyaki souce for teriyaki chicken rolls and if it was filled with more carrots and...
