The Emerald Light — Restaurant in Town of Shelburne

It is a quaint place to have a light fare, even if the menu items are a bit eclectic,do not fret it is well worth it.

I really enjoyed the Green Lantern theme all throughout the restaurant by the way of small but efficient little details.

The food is tasty and homemade with gusto, try the grilled cheese sandwiches paired with inevitable home made (of course) tomato soup is really something to make a detour for, even the venerable chicken club was revisited with a fun twist.

But above all save some room for desert Which is really the party trick here I give you the "Affogato" desert I won't say anymore trying it is LOVING it.

Brendan who happens to be the most gracious host gently nudged us in the Affogato direction ... The man knew what he was doing ....ahahaha I'll come back just for that and really the food was already a win!

Based on the glowing reviews we were excited to eat in this local Shelburne eatery. Sadly, we were extremely disappointed. I had the shrimp po'boy, which was okay. The shrimp was fresh. However, there wasn't much flavour. It needed something besides mayo. My friend's lunch was nothing short of a disaster. She ordered the tomoto soup and grilled cheese sandwich. The soup was lukewarm and greasy. She had requested that bacon not be included on the sandwich. The server acknowledged the request. However, it arrived with bacon, which my friend had to remove herself. The bread was barely toasted and like the soup very greasy.. Since the place was crowded she did not complain. Service was relatively good and the serving staff were pleasant. I hesitate to recommend...

The food was good, so no complaints there. The only downside was that we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for our food. I understand the patio was full, but there was only one other table occupied inside. By the time we got our food, the whole restaurant was full. I totally understand that long waits can happen sometimes, but we didn't have anyone come to our table for an hour, and we only ordered a burger and baked brie. We had decided we would leave at a certain time, and the food happened to come out just minutes before we were about to leave. It would have been nice to receive a heads-up that the wait could be long or at least get an update...
