Ken's Stir Fry — Restaurant in Town of Slave Lake

LAST STRAW - I have tried to like these guys...many issues over the years with service or with the food, that turned into “second chances” due to the lack of options in town, one good meal would have you re-thinking a boycott from your previous bad experience. The last straw was when I almost broke a tooth today on a piece of metal in my chow mein!! A sharp, jagged circular piece of metal from a clothing button or something, let’s just say it would have hurt going down and even more coming out! I’d post a picture if I knew how LAST STRAW - NEVER GETTING MY $$$ again. Family owned and operated and it’s a joke, how they’ve kept a licence to serve food for years is beyond me, prices are the highest in town, and your meal and experience is always...

Went there once with my spouse. We were very hungry and ordered a simple shrimp fried rice, ginger beef, and some spring rolls each. The rice seemed like it several days old and was microwaved and given to us, the shrimp was not well cooked either and seemed to have just been tossed in there. This was the driest fried rice I ever saw/tasted—no semblance of oil or flavour. In fact the food was so unappealing and Unappetizing that we couldn’t even eat a quarter of it, as hungry as we were having been on the road for hours before stopping at this restaurant. We paid and left because I also didn’t want to get sick eating such food. Mind you, it was empty in the restaurant—we were the only customers...maybe that should have given us a clue....

Ordered their special combo for $20. You get chicken fried rice and 3 other items of your choice to pick from the board. The chicken fried rice was bland, the chicken chow mein was tasteless and noodles smelled stale nd old. The deep fried shrimp is the same anywhere you order, they were fine. My last item I chose was beef chop suey, which looked just like beef and greens. Chop suey to me is with the bean sprouts in with julienne carrots...celery and onion. My husband got dry garlic ribs which were fatty and greasy. No meat. Ginger beef was chewy chewy with fat chunks in it. Terrible. First time ordering from there nd the last. Pretty disappointed for the amount you spend. I could have gotten a steak sandwich for that price and better...
