Ramzi's — Restaurant in Town of Westlock

Thought id try a broader sample of their food; give the restaurant a fair review. The outside of the building needs some work... the inside seemed fairly nice..

-The hamburger. Had a basic cheese burger. Appeared to be cooked from frozen and then placed on the white-est bleached bun they could find. Anyone could make something better from home. Poor effort for sure. 1/10

-The beef shawarma. One bite and directly in the food bin. I tried to pull out the beef to salvage some of my meal but it wasn't really worth it. The beef was tough and dry and i suspect old. 1/10

-The fish taco. It was probably a mistake to order a fish taco from the get go, but i thought id give it a chance. It was ok.. The fish was a little soft, kind of creepy but edible. 3/10.

-The donair. Had this dish before. Its just missing something... probably older meat (not right of the spindle) that is re-heated. The sauce needs to be re-assessed. 3.5/10

I can't justify going back to this place. They need to focus on making there core items good, like the basic hamburger rather than making fish tacos and beef sharwama. They have ice cream... which i suspect is just fine for the kids, don't bother with anything else. Hoping for...

Now that ive had the chance to have a lot more of the menu I'll update review.

Donair is the best in town albeit there arent many options. I wouldn't rate it on par with Edmontons top donair shops. Price is alright

Burgers imo are the best in town although they are a bit heavy on the red sauce. Price is alright

Fries are best in town without a doubt. Price is a bit high but worth it.

Fried onion rings are just ok. I'd rather go across street to a&w for them. The price was average.

Fried pickles were a random purchase which I didnt care for much but it's an acquired taste. Price seemed above average.

Pizza isn't very good. Very light on the toppings the sauce is sparse without any flavor and the dough was on the thin side and dry. Price is very high for quality and quantity you receive.

Ive cream is best selection in town and price is fair.

I'd recommend this place except for the pizza. There are items on menu I havent tried like...

I have reviewed this place before and gave it a 5 star service and food review. Tonight however, my takeaway was ordered at 6.30 and we were told 15 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes later, stood in line and paid at 6.50. The food was not given to me until 7.15 (45 minutes after ordering) and was stone cold. I asked for a re order of hot food and the chef/ manager accused me of being 45 minutes late to pick it up. Showed him the time the payment was made on the reciept and he still argued it was my fault! He did however redo the order but when I got home the onion rings order had turned into fried pickles, 1 order of fries was missing and my wifes order was incomplete. I guess it must be under new management as it was the best food place in town prior. Heard many complaints locally also just lately. Won't be going back for...
