I really wanted to like this place as it's only a few minutes away and there's not many options in this town. I wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately finding a thick curly black hair baked into my pizza ruined the experience. And it didn't look like a head hair if you know what I mean.
I arrived at dinner time around 5:30 p.m. the place was deserted. The staff was extremely friendly. My pizza only took 15 minutes. Those are the only positive things I can say about this place.
I was very disappointed with the taste. Very bland, no flavor, not a lot of toppings and that's when I saw the coarse curly black hair sticking out of the edge of the crust. I had only eaten two slices of my two pizzas but they immediately went in the trash.
I ordered the Mexican madness pizza and I had high expectations. I was very disappointed. It said it was topped with nachos. I guess I was expecting more than the mere two chips crushed and tossed on top. I didn't taste the taco seasoning at all. It had no spice, no kick at all.
It said it came with salsa and sour cream. These are the smallest portions I've ever seen. It wasn't a standard size condiment container, it was only a centimeter deep.
And something was wrong with the sour cream. I don't even know if it was actually sour cream. It didn't smell, look or taste like sour cream. I literally sniffed it and dipped my finger in to taste it and I tasted and smelled nothing at all. It had an odd grainy texture and was very runny. I'm wondering if they watered it down to stretch it out and cut costs. It could be 75% water. Even then it still should have smelled like sour cream and it didn't. Perhaps it was just plain milk with flour added to thicken it. Just speculation but that would explain the texture and lack of taste and smell.
Oh, and a few hours later I got the runs. This...
Read moreI love Indian food I have been to India twice, cook it all the time and enjoy many Indian restaurants around the metro Vancouver area. This is very low grade food, and a laughable attempt to pass as Indian food. I tried them when they first opened (Dark Dal) and was very underwhelmed by the overly salty bean soup like "dal". Fast forward to today as I decided to give them another chance, and my opinion has drastically lowered. The butter chicken was of the Campbell's soup can variety, being very far from anything close to authentic, or even the modified but still yummy versions I encountered living in England. The bread was not very naan like, but was the most edible thing I got. I ordered one veg samosa and one meat one. Both lacked flavor and seemed to be trying to be making up for this by being overly-huge. The meat one had pools of oil coming from the casing and the vegie one was so dry and doughy it seemed baked. The filling in the veg one was just basically potato, too much turmeric and a couple peas. If I could give this 1/4...
Read moreI had such a wonderful experience here. The proprietors were exceptional. The customer service was top notch. By going out of their way to make sure I knew how long the food would take, trying to find me when the food was ready, and insisting on carrying the boxed up order to my vehicle.
We ordered the 2 butter chicken, 4 garlic naan, 2 large rice, and 1 large raita. The food was delicious. The price was very reasonable.
My kids and I were visiting from Calgary and staying at the Comfort Inn down the road. My sister, who is local, suggested we check out Queen India, so on our last night in Langley, we ordered take-out for the whole family. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the butter chicken was the perfect level of spice for my no-spicy kid.
I am looking forward to my next trip to Langley so I can try the delcious looking...
