It's ok, too expensive, and failing to be good.
Food: good but nothing original, creative, or even delicious. The beef tartar is ok although I asked "relevé" and it was not. The scotch egg was well made and cooked perfectly but under seasoned. Actually everything was under seasoned. Just a general lack of salt, seasoning, and flavour.
Beer: only tried their stout. Was good. Over carbonated for my likings but I enjoyed it none the less.
Service: this is where is goes down. The service part was ok. Waitress was ok but not super friendly... She did seem very busy.
Ambiance: The ambiance is off. If you are using Edison light bulb as a decor feature, make sure they are all lit. Some bulb were burnt out, some neon baton strip were burnt out, the decore was dusty, the chairs are very uncomfortable, the tables are small. This is not nit picking folks... It's supposed to be a bar/coffee place. Comfy chairs and decor should be a priority. At least just change the burnt light bulbs! The chalkboard menus are absolutely impossible to figure out as they mix the coffee, food, and beer selection. So you don't really know whats what. On the menu there were 2 thing they didn't have. 1 was sold out, the other was just not served. We are talking a special of the day dish and a pasta dish!
Overall I would not go back. If it was cheap I could/would expect these things. But at this price (e.g.$13 for scotch egg) I...
Read moreFour friends enjoying the bookend of a microbrewery tour throughout “the Belle Province”, and this stop deemed essential. The remnants of a fine Irish Stout sat on my upper lip as we talked turkey in a courtyard which felt reminiscent of a 1920’s West Bank pub. Ivy danced along a red brick wall while servers hurried between tables, eager to be of any help they could, and for the most part, they were. Unfortunately, my bone to pick lies with a feeble attempt at dealing with a certain yellow and black pest, whose mission to bother patrons of the bar went full steam ahead, several area deterrents bordering on irrelevancy. Conversations suspended, our attention now diverted to the family reunion of wasps whose meeting grounds was that of a flight of beers, now deemed contaminated. Leaving this beautiful venue with a lump on my neck instead of one of many great souvenirs resting in the window is a minor blemish on what turned out to be a TOP TIER ATMOSPHERE. On the return journey, the sight of table-side flyswatters would return joy back into my heart. Also, the mentioning of an added 15% gratuity on every bill would be a neat tidbit mentioned by...
Read moreMy family of five with three teenagers came here for dinner. We made a reservation a few days ahead online and that was an easy process. The system can either text or email you to remind you of your reservation. We did not speak french, and the staff were very helpful both over the phone and changing our reservation time and in person in explaining the menu and the variety of beers that they carry.
We were seated promptly when we arrived and we sat in the patio. The weather was perfect for an outdoor dinner. The energy in the patio was great. Depending on the size of your group, expect to be sharing a table with another party. There is a barrier on the table that will separate you from another party for safe distancing.
Came within a reasonable time frame, and all the food came at once. The beef tartare was definitely our favorite app. The cod was good though just a tad overcooked. The scoter was actually quite tender.
Overall a very...
