Cavicchi's Meats — Restaurant in Upper Tantallon

So many good things to say about this place and the lovely employees who always have a smile. Sausages are amazing, as is the seafood chowder mix and don't get me started on the incredible made fresh donuts. We buy routinely buy their fresh eggs, ground meat, back bacon and pepperettes. They also have lots of preserves (mustard pickles & beets). They even have scoop icecream and a great outdoor family friendly area to enjoy it (picnics benches on a beautiful grassy lawn under huge graceful trees). First time in the store and brought lots home to try! Not a big ham fan, but their deli smoked ham and pastrami were terrific on sandwiches. Pulled pork and their BBQ sauce was perfect with their Mac and Cheese. We also tried their brownies, some excellent curry sausage (I would say mild) and a counter pastry that was a favorite. Kinda looks like a cinnamon roll, but isn't. A caramel and sticky texture, we thought it was a new favorite treat! 😍 Can't wait to come back again and try more... I usually hit up the Bike and Bean when on a ride past these two places, but decided to give Cavicchi's a try. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich. If it hadn't taken them almost 40m to make (they were not that busy), I might not have reviewed it. But combined with the time it took for a simple takeout order to it being wrapped in a package labeled "grilled cheese" lol, to it being the most mediocre smoked meat sandwich I might have ever been acquainted with (only about 1/8" of smoked meat), there is a lot of room for improvement.
