Horrible experience. Food was “okay”.
We were a party of four. My wife and I arrived slightly ahead of our friends. We were seated in advance of their arrival. Dining is an outdoors atmosphere at picnic tables. We are directed to our table and nothing more than “your server will be right with you” is said. My wife (is recovering from surgery and suffers from chronic pain) sat down first. I choose to sit beside her to face our friends when the arrived. Well, two people on the same side of the table allow for it to flip. We end up flat on our backs, legs under the table but in the air. As we struggle to right ourselves, a male staff member comes over to say “We should have told you the tables flip like that”. Embarrassed, sore, wet we brushed off the experience, but the damage to our bodies was yet to be revealed.
Our friends joined us and we were greeted by our server. She was pleasant, but also apologized for being “short-staffed” Menus were presented. After an acceptable period of time our orders were taken. Food was prompt. Food was “okay”. Sure, it was a wood-fired pizza. Tasted fine. Yes, I would order it again.
But let’s note that our cutlery was dirty from landing on the ground from the tipping event. Let’s note that no approach for second drink was made. Let’s note that we were left unapproached long enough that we ate our pizza… became full with a slice or two remaining… but had enough time to become hungry again and finish our pizza. Let’s note that no management approached regarding our table flipping. Let’s note that we are now three days past and in incredible degrees of pain due to the table flip.
I will only cut some slack to the claim of “short-staffed”. It is becoming more and more apparent that the term “short-staffed” these days is an excuse for poor service. I understand the struggle of short-staffed, I really do. I feel for those that work harder to compensate for an employer’s inability to find staff. It is a weird time of adjustment for all in that regards. But, that is left for a very...
Read moreWe've been loyal patrons of Rustic Crust for quite some time now, and our past visits have consistently left us with positive memories of delicious food and drinks. However, I must regrettably recount our most recent experience, which was far from satisfactory.
This evening marked our first outing since welcoming our newborn, a momentous occasion for us. Regrettably, the evening took an unexpected turn.
Upon arrival at 5:50 pm, we noticed a change in the restaurant's format, with patrons being directed to the bar to place orders for both drinks and food. We promptly submitted our order for drinks, appetizers, and pizzas at 6:00 pm. The drinks arrived in a timely manner, but at 6:45 pm, we observed that tables that had arrived later than us were already receiving their food.
Inquiring about the delay, I approached the bar and was informed that an issue with the restaurant's Wi-Fi had prevented our order from being transmitted. I understand and appreciate the transition to this new ordering system, but what troubled us was the absence of a server overseeing the preparation of our food and checking on our table.
For parents of a newborn, a night out is a significant undertaking that requires meticulous planning. Unfortunately, this incident disrupted our plans entirely. Faced with the prospect of waiting at least another 20 minutes for our order, we reluctantly made the decision to cancel our food and return home with empty stomachs. Waiting for over an hour with no sign of our appetizers or pizzas was simply unacceptable and deeply disappointing.
We hope that this review serves as constructive feedback for The Rustic Crust. We've enjoyed countless positive experiences at your establishment, but tonight's episode left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. We believe in your potential to rectify these issues and ensure that future patrons can enjoy the exceptional dining experiences we've come to expect from...
Read moreCame in, sat down and immediately realized that the music was so loud that conversation was impossible.
Couldn't hear each other. Couldn't hear the server. Server couldn't hear us. They pretended to turn it down (no change). Server asked if we wanted to have the music turned down. No change. They moved us to a farther table and then turned the music UP.
Our order was taken about 1/2 hour after we sat down.
Food arrived out of order.
I ordered chicken pizza but I believe DNA analysis would be required to confirm as maybe a few strands of shredded chicken were on the pizza. Crust was soggy and mealy. Basically thin wet garlic bread. I could only manage to eat a couple of pieces.
We had to eventually specifically ask for water and napkins because none were provided. This is a place where you literally HAVE TO eat with your hands, folks. Napkins are not optional.
So, to sum up: Awful food. Horrendous service. Impossible atmosphere. Plus, this is NOT a cheap place to eat (over $125 for 3 people). I was really hoping for a good experience and a fun new place to add to my list of favorite eateries. What I did get was an expensive lesson.
I won't be back. I will never recommend this place to anyone, and that's a pity.
Would give 0...
