Bigsby the Bakehouse — Restaurant in Vancouver

I think this place is wonderful. Hesitant to come in here at first as I’ve had a bad experience in the past... not with the staff but with a customer. That being said there are wonderful regular customers who come in and have a lovely smile and have small chit chats. There’s a pretty young lady with dark hair who’s always at the front. She’s very kind and smiles. I think she’s actually one of the keys to the success of the place too. I never tried their dinner buns and one time she had one left and gave it to me free of charge. This has now made me buy them often. Everything there tastes wonderful. This place is an actual bakery with good food. I’ve seen the owner and she has nice silver and white hair. She’s very elegant and classy and interacts a lot with the customers and you can tell she loves what she does. Goods run out fast there and bc a lot of people order in advance. I’ve recommended it to people out of the country in Asia and Europe. Service can be slow at times bc they like to talk to their regulars, so be prepared for that but I think that’s what the charm is about this bakery.

This bakery is my go to spot for all their menu items, especially the bread and cheese scones.. the staff care about quality and the atmosphere demonstrates this emphasis..I am here 2-3 times weekly .. a special and cozy environment, one orders then settles at a table to totally enjoy the meal .. just my favourite bakery in Vancouver...and especially now that the Covid-19 situation has made purchasing this bakery’s (( for me )) essential baked goods, , it is even more important to support those businesses that you care about...And this business and their employees deserve our total support... so on every Tuesday I am there to pick up my order, and at times I am there more frequently..again just the best bakery in town and the service is superior..during this Covid-19 time period we continue to purchase bread/scones weekly and truly experience exceptional customer service and such quality bakery goods…I appreciate each morning slicing my rye bread for toast, see photo..I just appreciate the staff who dedicate the time and effort to produce such quality… the staff are especially welcoming and friendly even in these challenging...

A Peculiar Bakery Experience It was an interesting visit to the bakery today. I had hoped to simply order a coffee, but found myself in a rather… unique situation at the counter. Despite my presence, the three staff members seemed to prioritize another customer who had arrived after me. Following that, they collectively decided that a series of trips to the back, involving what appeared to be very thorough and repeated handwashing, was of utmost importance. I couldn't help but notice their frequent glances in my direction during this process, leading me to speculate that perhaps they were subtly communicating a desire for me to depart. It was certainly an unconventional approach to customer service...
