A Tasty Trip to Jamaica in Every Bite! As a lover of Jamaican cuisine, I was eager to try out this takeout restaurant specializing in Jamaican patties. The experience was nothing short of delightful! The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked patties. I purchased a mix of fresh and frozen products, and even though they were out of regular frozen beef patties, the spicy ones turned out to be an excellent alternative. The service was exceptional, as they catered to my order efficiently despite it being just minutes before closing at 7 pm. This alone made it worth the drive, and I know I'll be coming back for more. My first encounter with Jamaican patties was during my time working at The Reef on Main St. These scrumptious treats made for the perfect late-night snack, and I'm glad I found this restaurant to satisfy my cravings. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, during which I plan to try their veggie and curry-flavored patties. They have Roti as well, which I think I'll get next time too. From the comments I've found online, it seems that I'm not the only one who adores this place. Fellow patrons rave about the flaky crusts stuffed with flavorful fillings, especially the mild beef and spinach options. The baked deliciousness comes at an unbeatable price of around $2 per patty – an absolute steal! Not only does this restaurant offer the best patties in Vancouver, but you can also buy bulk frozen patties for a quick and delicious snack later. While some reviews mention that it's a cash-only establishment, I had no trouble paying with my debit card. This Jamaican patty takeout joint is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of the Caribbean. With their perfectly spiced beef patties, delectable veggie options, and wallet-friendly prices, it's no wonder they've earned their title as the best in Vancouver. Don't forget to bring an appetite for flaky, flavorful goodness!

I have been eating at this place since the Patties were about 65 cents...not quite the prices when they opened in the late 70's but probably pretty close. As per my usual spew, yes the prices have gone up but they still taste damn good. Authentic? I have no clue. I don't think they have ever said much more than hello to me since the late 80's early 90's but I do not care. I show up for the grub. The wacky, oversized, almost Rodney Graham meets Ron Terada conceptual art-like business card that could double up as a greeting card is a phenomenal part of the experience as is the business card disaster pin board. Realtors and electricians fighting for free ad space, pummeling and poking each other in a thumbtack fight. The faded lithograph printed Jamaica poster is dated but a welcome sight. I just wish they had the 1972 Sintra Bronte Jamaica t-shirt poster....the Usain Bolt printout just isn't doing it. On another side note, the Chalk art chalkboard may be one of the first in the city before Chalk Art started to become a thing. Not a good thing, but still a thing. Back to the Morse code/reverse Braille coded patties. Delish. Spinach feta and Mild Beef are a guarantee. I could eat a white greasy bag of them and I do. In fact I pick up extra thick plastic bags of their Arawak Industries frozen Jamaican pucks to go! I have never used the pop machine that sits in their establishment and I have actually never seen anyone use it in all my years there but maybe one day I will. Other than a medium freezer that sits behind the cash register, most of the action is behind the wall. I hope to hear some Dancehall or dub back there, but so far no luck.

I've had Juici Patties from Montego Bay years ago and I wanted reminisce that memorable trip. I also just moved to Vancouver so it was very exciting to discover this little gem. Don't expect it to be a authentic patty from Jamaica, because it's not, let's be real here. The selection of ingredients will differ from country to country. Food made in Canada will always have a Canadian flare to it and I think that's unique in itself. I personally love the airy-flaky pastry texture of the patties, it's very delightful! My go to flavours are Spicy beef, Curry beef, Vegetable, and Curry chicken. They all have a nice subtle heat to them but not overly to burn your taste buds. I would have to say my favourite patties are Curry chicken and Curry beef since they have the most flavour. I also recommend the Chicken Roti as well. I always purchase a dozen of frozen Curry chicken and Curry/Spicy beef patties to throw into the freezer for days when I need something real quick to snack on. Great for lunches and picnics! I like the staff and how quick it is to grab n' go however, I rate it 4 stars because it is Cash Only. I always carry some cash anyways so it wasn't a big deal but it does limit the quantity amount that I would like to purchase. Overall I always have a great experience, the service from staff to the quality of food is consistent.
